Highlights
  • Purmamarca - We will do a tour in which the main experience will be to understand the local culture.

We will go to the foot of the historical chapel to make a brief review on the occupation of the Quebrada de Humahuaca throughout the last 10,000 years of history to the present.

Interpreting history we will understand the reason for the Castilian language in today’s culture, the Catholic faith shared with Andean celebrations, etc.

Later we approached the outskirts of the cemetery, to understand about the current celebration of the ancestors, something that archeology shows us that we did thousands of years ago.

In a dark landscape on the outskirts of town we will walk about 800 meters and enjoy the silence and the sounds of nature. Perhaps contemplating a starry landscape, sharing knowledge about Pachamama, Apachetas, Coquena, and the respect that the native has for nature.

We will not talk about constellations, or astronomy, we will not do ceremonies or fire. We will only dedicate ourselves to count and interpret Andean beliefs in combination with Catholicism.

Myths, legends, history, rituals - The best tour of northern Argentina. We started in the afternoon at the church talking about the history of the Quebrada de Humahuaca and its inhabitants. We ended at night in the cemetery talking about rites, legends, religious syncretism, and the worldview of the original and current inhabitants of the area. It was the best of our trip.
