A must-do in Istria! - The tasting was the most helpful part - don’t skip it! We did the basic 3 oil tasting and felt it was perfectly sufficient. Do the museum first, then the tasting if possible, as it will help to know some of the facts you’ll learn when you do the tasting.

In addition, the visit is quick and complete, which informs us about Istria and olive oil. In addition, you will be offered several tasting options.

Hugely informative about olive oil, we will buy and use differently from now on! - Excellent museum & tasting experience with a very good shop. We went for the 15 euro per person Green (?) experience which was good value. A comprehensive audio guided tour of the museum learning about the history of olive oil, before the tasting. The tasting was interesting and has changed how we will buy and enjoy olive oil in future. Lots of facts, demonstrated by the tasting of 3 different oils. We purchased a bottle in the shop before we left, but there was no pressure at all to do so - the emphasis was on education re the differing qualities, flavours and benefits of oil (or lack of in the case of mass produced!).

Enjoyed and learned much about Olive Oil - We enjoyed the tour and tasting at this museum. It museum had simple displays with explanations in English on the full history of olives on growing and production. You can listen on headphones as each displayed is numbered. After going through the museum we then tasted three olive oils. There was also an option for tasting more. The lady was very knowledgable on the subject and easily answered all our questions. We then bought some products available there. Overall a nice outing.

Amazing Olive History, who knew! - Stumbled across this site while wandering the town. Started off not sure if it was going to be a good experience but opted to give it a try as we had some time to kill. Whole family came away with a greater appreciation for olives and the quality from which they come here in Istria. So very educational and informative. Absolutely loved it!

Danger! - Attention! If you go there, buy the tickets on site! A normal tour with a simple tasting costs 15 euros and you can buy the ticket at your leisure. With extra high-quality olive oil it costs a total of 24 euros. It is definitely interesting. But don't buy it for 30 euros on TripAdvisor. The lady at the cash desk couldn't explain the price to me either and the 15 euros I overpaid were gone.
