Great way to see a glacier … tour guide needs to be more attentive - I guess tripadvisor last my last review… Great way to get up-close-and-personal to a glacier! The boat (Grey III) was well appointed and they served drinks with glacier ice (water for free) as well as coffee, tea and alcohol. Best if you bring a few snacks and maybe a bottle of water, too. The van took us right there, but the driver spoke no English and didn't even try to communicate with us despite the fact we did know some Spanish. This was only an issue, since you can either walk to the boat (about 30 minutes) or take a water taxi – and my wife had a knee problem so we wished this was explained prior to the walk. Lastly, we were told that the van would pick us up at our hotel at 7am. It arrived early, which would have been great, except we got a nasty note about being late and they were about to leave without us despite the fact we got to the van at 6:58am.

Nice trip, with a few bumps along the way - The glacier was amazing - truly a sight to behold. The boat had plenty of space along with a bar, and the seats was comfortable. However, the staff left something to be desired… First of all, the guide only translated in english the first couple of times, then he just forgot, I guess? Secondly, my girlfriend and I made an effort to be first in line, so we could get a window seat. However, due to the boat being fully booked that was not possible, so the staff told us to sit in the middle of the boat - which is fair enough! However, when another couple, who was also seated in the middle, tried to sneak to a window seat and got caught, they were allowed to stay?! I guess the rules don’t apply to everybody… Left us with a sour taste in our mouthes - which luckily disappeared when we arrived at the glacier. All in all, an okay trip, but the staff gave us a rocky start…

WARNING: RACISM is Alive and Well in this Tour Group - WARNING! We loved Chile, Patagonia, and the Chilean People ... (for example the 5-star La Peninsula Experience, see later review) ... ... EXCEPT for this tour group. This should serve as a warning to all passengers thinking of paying for this tour -- be careful what you say during boarding, particularly if you are not a latino or a native Spanish speaker. A brief synopsis: We arrived 17 minutes early and were third in line to board the GREY III powered catamaran. Then, immediately prior to boarding two parties of 10 and 24 people showed up and cut in front of us. Because the two people ahead of us had tickets for this quantity of passengers, 34 people (!) were allowed to board ahead of us ... ALL of them were speaking Spanish, and appeared to be Latinos. I was gradually nudged out of the way by this large group, and when I nudged back, the boarding agent saw MY action and denied me entrance to the boat ... much like when a football / soccer player is fouled hard, and when he pushes back, HE (the second player) is the one given the yellow card. With this tour group, if you are non-latino, be prepared to be pushed to the back of the line ... and whatever you do, DO NOT speak up for your rights to board in your turn. Apparently, there is no notion of fairness and line management in this tour organization. eg. if you were to: "hold a place in line for your wife and kids" -- perhaps 1 to 3 people, then by all means, that's reasonable, but 34 people on a boat that seats 60 ... where the VIEW at the front REALLY matters ... that is very unfair in my opinion. Racist overtones in play, without a doubt. The irony here: in the United States, I teach science to young, disadvantaged Latino-Americans ... who face racism all the time, and I always stress to NOT see color or culture when interacting with others ... to treat everyone fairly.
