Highlights
- Teide National Park - This is a long and hard climb to Teide, (44km, 5% avg) but is well worth the hard effort.
Before reaching the cable car, we will pass through small villages, forest areas and beautiful viewpoints, where there will be lots of opportunities to take photos and to enjoy the view of Puerto de la Cruz, the bay and the Atlantic Ocean.
The last 11 kilometers will take us through the Teide national park, with the landscape now shifting to be more raw, appearing more like the surface of Mars or the Moon, rather than Earth! A really amazing and breathtaking view.
After the long climb and well deserved break, we make the long descent back to Puerto de la Cruz.

This journey is a must-do for every biking enthusiast.
It represents the lengthiest unbroken ascent in Europe
(47km with an average slope of 5%).
The complete route measures 94 km with a total altitude gain of 2400m.
A friendly reminder to pack sufficient warm attire and/or windbreakers, particularly in the colder months. The ride down from Teide can be significantly chilly.

Riding with Jumbo - Superb experience as this climb of Teide from Aguamansa with Alberto as guide, very beautiful day, crossed the Jumbo Visma in training camp, I recommend to all cycling enthusiasts, not to be missed, D+ 1500 from Aguamensa to the cable car.

Brilliant one to one tour - Brilliant one to one guided tour. Alberto knows the routes really well , he was great company and obviously a very experienced cyclist. He picked me up from my hotel and took me to the bike shop to fit me with a suitable bike. If you want to climb the mountain I would highly recommend this company for their professional and friendly service . Excellent value for money

Excellent days with Jesper as my guide - Jesper was an A class guide. I enjoyed the El Teide tour so much I booked again the next day! Jesper provided the perfect amount of keeping us safe, encouragement, excellent local knowledge, the best coffee and cake stops, and will challenge you if you like!! Amazing hire bike. Brutal climb with excellent rewards along the way - Excellent day out with Jasper from Ride Base.
Had to take the longer route due to road closures on the Mountain but Jasper coached me up the brutal climb to Teide - all about 2500m of climbing and a PB for me in a single day.
Words of encouragement, biscuits along the way and the odd ‘suck it up and pedal’ from Jasper who pushed me all the way to make sure I didn’t bail on the climb.
The effort was rewarded by a fantastic views, 45 descent (max speed about 85kmph 🚴💨) and a cold beer next door to the shop.
Decent bikes with generous gearing, very smooth roads particularly on the descent and courteous driver who are very patient.
All in all a grand day and one to brag about with the cycle club back home.

A thoroughly enjoyable challenge - I was originally just going to hire the bike from Ride Base and tackle the Teide climb on my own. However I'm really glad I opted to choose the guided option!
Jesper was professional, knowledgeable and super friendly. Which took all the guess work out of pacing the ride, and made it far more enjoyable.
The bike itself was perfectly set up, and the guys were more than happy to swap over to my personal saddle I'd brought with me.
I look forward to going back to Tenerife to tackle Masca and some of the MTB trails, and I'll definitely use Ride Base again!!

Very nice outing in a group of 5 with Jesper (RideBase) to ride up to the Teide Cable Car by road bike 🚴🚴♀️. Jesper very pro and very friendly knowing how to motivate the Aa troupe. El Teide - Excellent bike rental! Staff are super friendly and great to joke around with. Really proper gear, great service, and they will help you with anything regarding routes, material or what to see. Deffo recommend the El Teide climb for anyone up for a challenge!
