Highlights
  • Volcan Villarica - We will have the option to ascend one of the most active volcanoes in South America with a height of 2,847 meters. In the ascent, we can experience the mountaineering in different phases, from walking with sticks towards the summit, to hiking with crampons and an ice ax in more exposed areas, where always under the support of our expert guides, a significant mountain experience will be lived. On the summit, we can clearly observe the activity of this sacred volcano through its fumarole and if the weather allows us, we might be able to observe the incandescent magma inside. On the descent, the panoramic views of the lakes in the area and the geography of the place, will give us clear information of the unique natural environment where we are. We will be able to go down sections sliding on snow toboggans. We will climb 1,700 metres in elevation, with the possibility of taking a snow lift on the first stretch.

Great climb up Volcan Villarrica - I climbed Volcan Villarrica with 8 other visitors. Our group was led by Ossiel and 3 other guides. All of the guides were terrific. They all spoke English very well, and were very attentive. It’s a hard and demanding climb but the guides went at a comfortable pace up the volcano that always kept the group together. We learned some new skills like how to use an ice axe and crampons to cross the ice. Sledding part of the way down the volcano was fun and less scary than I thought it would be.

An absolute must do if visiting Pucon - We couldn’t have picked a better company to do the tour with: professional, friendly and helpful guides. We had 4 guides for a group of 12 which meant that part of the group was able to go at a slower pace if they needed to. The views were truly stunning but the real highlight was getting to sledge down the snowy part of the volcano which was such a unique and fun experience. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Pucon to do this tour with Zenit!

A must have in Pucón, adventure and fun - Very professional customer service. The guide was amazing, she made this hike exciting and funny at the same time. I felt very safe and the experience itself is worth an effort. There's no words to describe the views.

It was amazing! - The day before we had a meeting at the Zenit agency to find out more details about what the day would be like, and also to try on the trekking boots. We went up in a small group with 4 guides, all of whom were very friendly and communicative. The climb was tiring, but the stops and the enthusiasm of the guides made all the difference in regaining energy and moving forward. Unfortunately we were unable to reach the edge of the crater, as it is prohibited at the moment (due to the intense activity of the volcano). But it was really good nonetheless! The descent was also a lot of fun, sliding with the board ("skibunda"). I highly recommend this tour with Zenit!

Awesome day up Quetrupillán - We chose to hike up to Quetrupillán as Villaricca currently cannot be summited due to volcanic activity. We were able to summit Quetrupillán and had amazing views of Villaricca and the surrounding volcanos. The guides were professional, friendly, helpful and spoke perfect english. We felt perfectly safe the whole time even without prior experience using crampons/ice axe. Getting to slide down on tabogens was a very fun way of getting down the snow we had just hiked up!

Worth it! - The views were incredible and the hike was worth it (I would not recommend the hike for people who do not have a decent physical condition, though). Price to quality it was worth booking with the agency, they provided all necessary equipment and transportation, and the guides were supportive and pleasant. Only problem I had was that it felt slightly rushed. It is understandable given that you are on a schedule, and once the group was split based on pace it felt way better. The guide was nice and understanding and stopped as many times as I needed, without making me feel bad about it :). On the way back, though, there were 2 times where my boyfriend and I were left so far behind the group we could not see the guides anymore (we stopped for a few minutes to take a layer off and take a picture). Besides the slightly rushed feeling, everything was great. I would recommend booking with them, but make sure you are able to keep up or are very vocal and clear about needing a certain pace and breaks. :)
