Pefrfect wine tasting, tour and stately setting in the Collio wine region! - For visitors seeking an outstanding experience of the famous Collio wine region - don't miss this tour! The tour is of the Castello di Sella in Capriva del Friuli, a stately mansion surrounded by well-tended gardens, hilllside vineyards and a golf course. Includes a tour of the beautiful Italiante castle, the ancient cellars and underground bunker. The tour ends with a luscious tasting of 3 white wines and 2 red wines from the DOC Collio and DOC Isonzo areas of control. The generous wine tasting is accompanied by bread, cheese, salami and prosciutto from the region. Our guide was knowledgeable and fluent in English. Be sure to pick up a few bottles at the wine store on the way out. The castle will soon be opening a wellness spa!

Do not book via Tripavisor because it is very unreliable..... probably why so much advertising is necessary - The tour was wonderful and very interesting. The winery was classy and really worth seeing. The only thing that didn't work was the RESERVATION THROUGH TRIPAVISOR! We got there and if the lady from the winery hadn't been so nice and accommodating, we would have had to leave without a wine tasting because there was nothing reserved for our group! Luckily I had the payment confirmation with me. Well, I have to say, considering that Tripavisor annoys us every day with advertising and asks what feels like a thousand times whether everything is OK with the booking, I think that's quite a feat. There were nine of us and we would soon have left without a tour even if we had paid in full..... It's better to call the winery directly and make a reservation. The secretary speaks German and is really very helpful and professional.
