Unforgettable experience! - I booked this tour with my mother. We were initially a little concerned that my mother would not be able to keep up due to her advanced age and mobility limitations. We were so blessed to have José as our guide, He took such good care of my mom to ensure she could see everything. And he was so patient and compassionate! My mother is so appreciative. This tour was wonderful. We could not have seen these places without José and he was very knowledgeable about the history, nature and geography. I can write an entire novel about all the wonderful things we did, but that would take too long. Overall. I highly recommend this tour and guide! Thanks José :-)

Highly Recommend! - What a fantastic day! Highly recommend! Jose took us all over beautiful Sao Miguel Island. His love for his home was evident and he shared many unique things about the Azorean way of life. I would love to do the whole thing all over again (but maybe with less rain, ha ha). Thank you Jose!

Outstanding Experience and Guide! Thank You José! - José of Carpe Diem was fantastic. His knowledge of everything from history to plants to volcanism was impressive, enlightening, and complete. He had a great sense of humor and perfect English for us non-portuguese speakers. He gave us plenty of time to enjoy each location, including the baths of Poca da Dona Beija and lunch at the Queijaria Furnense (cheese factory). We never felt rushed. The views he took us to were spectacular. We also enjoyed the visit to the Gorreana Tea Factory and learning about the process of making tea and seeing antique machinery is still in use. The four of us agree that this entire adventure was the highlight of our vacation and enriched our understanding of the places we visited.

Carpe Diem Dream Tours - Excellent! - In April, we did a full day tour of Sao Miguel with Josee - including the volcanos, botanical gardens, hot springs and an SUV tour circling the big island. Our group of four travels a lot and uses primarily private guides - we would all highly recommend Josee!

Fantastic day out - Fantastic private tour to Furnas with Jose! We did so many different things from bathing in thermal pools to “water tasting” the different thermal waters to visiting a tea plantation. He was even able to squeeze in a side trip to part of the Nordeste area. We never felt rushed and he was a wealth of information on Azores. So glad our original tour operator cancelled on us without warning because we were able to book with Carpe Diem Dream Tours. It certainly lives up to its name!

Number One Tour Guide of the Azores - We did three tours with Jose and each one was better than the previous. His knowledge of the island is extensive and he is so respectful of the natural beauty of his home. He was engaging and enthusiastic about everything spot he showed us. He made the trip an absolute pleasure. He took us to spots that if he hadn't had a 4wd jeep we never would have seen the amazing sunsets and or visited the white castle. He was good at telling you upfront what other cost would be like lunch and going to the thermal baths. He was very gracious with his time and also has snacks and water for you. I highly recommend that when you visit Sao Miguel you seek out Carpe Diem Dream tours and Jose.
