The Lawrenceville Bites and Brews tour was great! - We had a beautiful walk down Butler street, stopping along the way to see street art and landmarks and learn about the history of Lawrenceville. Our guides, Dan and Diane were very knowledgeable and fun, and bought us beers and provided snacks along the way. I went with friends and met some other cool people on the tour as well. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone, whether you are new to Pittsburgh or have lived here your whole life.

Stellar, Unique Beer Tour in Pittsburgh - We recently experienced the Walk the Burgh history and brewery tour and it was pretty groovy. The hosts, Dan and Diane, were passionate and knowledgeable, blending history with insights into the steel city's brewing scene. The walking pace was just right, allowing us to soak in the sights while enjoying local brews at each stop. Some of the stops even have FOOD trucks which was a solid bonus! Thanks to the hosts for a memorable time! 🍻

Bites & Brews & Basketball - My husband and I were in town, from Ontario, for the 1st and 2nd round of March Madness. We signed up for this tour so we could explore the city before the next games and we are so glad we did! From the moment we walked in to the meeting spot, Dan & Diane made us feel welcome and excited for what was ahead. The length and distance of the tour was just right for us, as we were on a schedule, but if we wanted to continue with a self-guided tour afterwards, Dan & Diane gave us plenty of suggestions of where to go and what to do. The breweries we visited were fantastic, and the beer was great. Dan & Diane really know the history of Lawrenceville and of Pittsburgh in general and hearing their own experiences of living there made it that much more interesting. Highly recommend this tour.

We got to see where the beer is made and talk with one of the owners at Lolev Beer at our first stop. Our guides Dan & Diane were very knowledgeable of the area and made our tour fun!

Sweet way to spend Saturday afternoon - This was a really fun way to spend the afternoon and get to know the neighborhoods in Pittsburgh. Dan and Diane are awesome!

An Informative Walk for Beer Lovers! - Having been on several WTB tours, I was eager to join this new brew tour to get to know a different part of town. This tour doesn't start at the Walk the Burgh headquarters, but instructions for parking and meetup for the tour were a breeze, and I had no trouble finding the group at the meeting spot. Everyone in the group was super welcoming and friendly - what else do you expect of beer lovers? I'm a local, so I'd been to a few places in Lawrenceville before, but I hadn't really explored Upper Lawrenceville, where the tour starts, let alone walked along that stretch. It was great to have an excuse to get to know a few breweries in this area, as well as learn about their history AND have beer samples at each one. We didn't just learn about the breweries -- walking along that stretch of Butler Street, you pass the Allegheny Cemetery and a few other places of note, and we learned some things as we walked. We hit four breweries in all, having either a full pour, half pour, or tasting at each spot, and the guides provided snacks so that no one regretted planning for a late dinner! I'm so happy to have learned some new info about my town and to have discovered new places to grab a pint and hang out without having to walk in blindly on my own. I can't wait to get back to Upper Larryville and hit up these breweries with my friends...or just take my friends on this tour!

Brewtiful - I consider myself a local but this Lawrenceville walk hit several hidden gems of Breweries that I had not been to before! The tour guides, Dan and Diane, welcomed the group at Lolev, where the owners gave us a small tour of the brewery. As we walked along Butler, we learned a nice combination of history, culture, and arts of this neighborhood. They also gave the group Pittsburgh themed snacks with a few of the stops. At each location (Coven, Bierport, and Eleventh Hour Brewing), the tour guides were on such friendly terms with waiters and managers. This created a very casual and welcoming atmosphere. The managers or owners came over to introduce the beers and give us an insight into what we were about to sample - and there were plenty of amazing options for any type of brew you could prefer. Wear comfortable shoes, be ready to set a decent pace, and plan to spend some extra money as there are amazing restaurants to visit after the walk, and sometimes food trucks at the stops!

Met new people, learned about Lawrenceville history and delicious beer! - On a warm February mid-afternoon, I joined the Lawrenceville Brewery Tour at Lolev Beer on Butler Street. It was a beautiful 60-degree day, and the tour group was already standing outside introducing themselves. Everyone was very welcoming, and the group was of surprisingly diverse ages, professions, and interests. Having lived in Pittsburgh on and off almost my whole life it was so refreshing to meet up with new people! The tour guides, Diane and Dan, were warm and inviting, ensuring that everyone was comfortable and setting expectations for the length of tour and walking distance. Lolev Beer is a newer brewery in a great location on Butler Street. One of the brewers gave us a brief tour of the equipment and discussed the historical nature of the building – an old Ford dealership – where they unearthed the original terrazzo flooring and gorgeous ceiling panels. There was a great selection of beers. I had the Vespero Czech Dark Lager and it was delicious! On our way to Coven Brewing, heading down Butler Street towards town, we stopped by Allegheny Cemetery where Diane and Dan shared interesting stories and images. Coven Brewing is an intimate brewhouse with amazing iron work on the exterior and a good view of the Allegheny Cemetery gates. I had another delicious beer, the Aerostat Oatmeal Stout. Coven had an outside vendor bringing in pierogies for the evening dinner crowd, so it was a convivial group of people. The tour group was warming up and the tour guides did a great job interspersing the modern anecdotes with historical reference. We had a nice stroll down Butler to Bierport Tap Room, a bottleshop and taproom near Row House Theatre. The space was warm and cozy in the underground bar and they prepared beer flights for us. Diane and Dan did a nice job circulating during each brewery stop bringing beer snacks, such as hard pretzels, nuts, and homemade pickles. The final stop was Eleventh Hour Brewing, a family run brewery tucked back a few streets from Butler Street. They have a great selection of craft beers, sours, and flagship brews. I loved this tour! It really motivated me to participate in other Walk the Burgh Tours. I look forward to gathering some friends for the Black & Ghost Tour and the Whiskey Walking Tour!
