Snorkelling Phu Quoc - We had a great half day snorkelling the islands off Phu Quoc with Jeep Tours hosted by Vu. It was excellent value for money & great fun, saw lots of marine life.

Fun snorkelling trip - Really enjoyable day. Went to some snorkelling spots that weren’t crowded with tourists at all. Our guide Vu was also great. Thanks for a fab day!

Fabulous day out. Worth doing - 5-star experience all throughout. Great corals and fish where we went; super friendly and helpful staff; and we met a wonderful couple along the way. Would highly recommend those who like swimming, snorkelling, living a memorable experience in the sunshine with that!

Enjoyable day - Good day out, guide meet us at our hotel on time. My wife was a little sea sick and was looked after by the guys on board. As for the snorkeling it was good plenty of fish but would say as many countries now lot of coral reefs in decline and can see with mass tourism in Vietnam the same..we had a good day.

Small boat, small group - would recommend - We had an amazing time, would definitely recommend the tour if you want a smaller boat and less crowded places. It was very personal, our group was only 6 people and at the first island we were the only people! Lunch was also very good and we were really taken care of in general (lots of snacks and drinks). Our guide was very nice and knew a lot about the area.

Highlight of our trip. - Amazing day out snorkelling and relaxing. Vu the tour guide was perfect and set the tone for a great day. The beer, snacks, snorkeling and laughter were the highlight of our trip in Vietnam. Definitely recommend. P.S Vu does great karaoke.

Unsafe experience - The snorkelling equipment available was a mask & snorkel but fins were not provided. Weak swimmers were told to use a life jacket. The guide (Vu) did not appear to be knowledgeable about snorkelling, marine life, conservation or water safety. He provided packets of dried noodles and encouraged guests to throw them in the water to “attract the fish”. This was totally unnecessary because there were plenty of fish and it is potentially harmful to the fish. Vu reassured guests that he is a very strong swimmer and he instructed us to wave our arm in the air if we need help when we are in the water. I had my doubts about this because he is quite overweight and did not look to be very fit. Vu proudly told us about how much beer he had loaded on the boat for us to drink on the beach at the island picnic, at the end of the tour. Prior to reaching the first snorkeling stop, Vu had begun to consume the beer and encouraged the guests to do likewise. I told the other guests that it wasn’t wise to consume alcohol prior to snorkelling and that doing so was dangerous and could invalidate their travel insurance should they be injured. Some of the guests followed my advice & waited until they had finished snorkelling before they drank the beer. Vu proceeded to drink beer constantly throughout the tour. At one of the snorkeling stops, Vu immediately climbed onto a high rock and jumped into the water. He did this repeatedly and encouraged other guests to do likewise. This appeared to be a very dangerous activity. By this stage, Vu had consumed several beers and should have been concentrating on maintaining the safety of the guests who were snorkelling in the water. Whilst I was in the water, I saw my teenage daughter jumping off the rock under Vu’s instruction. During the beach picnic, some of the guests discussed Vu’s behaviour. One of the ladies told me that she had felt tired whilst snorkelling and had waved to Vu because she needed help. She said he ignored her and she was left struggling alone to return to the boat. During the four hours that we were out on the water, Vu consumed a total of seven cans of beer. I’ve been on many tours and have never previously encountered a guide who is so irresponsible. Vu displayed no knowledge about aquatic life and little respect for it. Vu was irresponsible and had no regard for the safety of the tour participants.
