Great trip to Kings Canyon - I took the trip and it was fantastic. The very early start time was not a problem as the very comfortable bus allowed good snooze. Just before sunrise we saw wild horses and camels roaming around. The hike through the canyon was fantastic ... views breathtaking. Garden of Eden ... a true miracle in the desert.

Unbelievable scenery and a truly unforgettable experience worth the price tag. - At first I was hesitant to book this tour due to how expensive it was. Honestly I think a lot of the AAT tours, while great for some people, are a bit overhyped and overpriced if your main goal is to have an active adventure and learn along the way. Though without a guide, often you end up just looking at pretty sights while missing out on the learning. This tour had just the right balance of “touriness” and adventure. Although the drives to and from Kings Canyon were around 3 hours each starting at 4 AM from the resort, there were sufficient stops along the way (a very good and satisfying breakfast buffet stop on the way there at Kings Creek Station, and Kings Canyon Resort lunch and Curtin Spring visit on the way back). Our guides were also regularly telling us stories about the geology, wildlife, plants, and history of the area (after giving us enough time to nap!), which kept things engaging. For me, the guides truly made the difference from this being a great tour to being an unforgettable one. Our driver Dan (and guide for those two did the shorter creek walk) was really entertaining and knowledgeable, and our guide Glen for the rim walk (the one I did) on the canyon was an absolute joy to be around. He was extremely kind and a great source of support during the trip, and his passion and knowledge for the land and its history was infectious! The rim walk hike itself was also one of the most enjoyable walks I’ve ever done due to the level of challenge and the scenery. It has a couple of slightly more challenging parts to keep more experienced hikers entertained, but the majority is accessible to most levels, and even the easier parts are absolutely beautiful, enhanced further by the 5% chance rain we had which created some really rare waterfalls and streams. (Note that if doing this when it’s hot and sunny out, which is most of the time, you will need 3 L of water and good sun protection! And it will NOT look as wet as it is in my photos, even the “Garden of Eden” oasis spot in the center of the canyon.) All in all, this has become my favorite day spent during my 10-day Australia trip by far. Of course definitely also check out Kata Tjuṯa and Uluru too (I did them independently with the audio guide app and hop-on hop-off buses in one day, busy but good enough for me), but the Kings Canyon day trip is not to be missed and is (in my opinion) worth every dollar. If you have to spend money on just one tour while in Uluru, make it this one. Thank you again so much Glen and Dan!!

An absolute must do! - Michelle (guide) and Franck (driver) were absolutely fantastic to make this big day unforgettable. Full of live memories and invaluable insights/learning (on landscapes, recent and geological history, First people local culture)! The rim walk is physically demanding so listen to very clear guide advices. Absolutely not to be missed though (if your health/age condition permits).

Rim hike is awesome once you get up the 500+ rock steps - The rim hike was awesome! We did it on a really hot summer day (105 F/41 C), but early start made it bearable. If you can make it up the first 500 steps, the rest is very enjoyable. Mitch was a great guide

Best AAT Tour in Uluru! - We did 4 Viator tours in Uluru and this was our favourite. The day was long but the bus was very comfortable driven by Colin who was friendly and cheerful. Our tour director John was a crack up and very knowledgable. He was considerate to everyone and made our day very enjoyable. There was a surprisingly good hot breakfast included once we were almost there and then the hike (Rim walk) was the absolute highlight. It was challenging at the beginning but anyone with general fitness could easily do it. Rarely have I been on a hike where the scenery is breathtaking the entire way. Tip: Make sure you bring 3 Litres of water because the rangers do spot checks and won't allow you to do the walk if you don't. We only had 1.5 litres each and it cost us $6 for 1.5litre bottle at the servo so make sure you visit IGA where it costs you $2.30 beforehand!

A your that gives incredible views and loads of history - A brilliant trip. It’s a long bus ride: 3.5 hours one way, and the same back again. But we had Michelle as our tour guide, and she filled those 7 hours with many interesting stories about the history of our surroundings. She is the most brilliant storyteller! The rim walk is great- and a really enjoyable experience. The views are incredible!

King's Canyon, a must do if you go to Uluru - Our fantastic guide, Michelle from AAT Kings told us so much about the geological and indigenous history of Kings Canyon, whilst guiding us up the 500 steps and then up and down rocks for 43 hours. Frank, our wonderful AAT Kings driver took part of the group on a less arduous but just as interesting walk along the bottom of the canyon. This ws a magical day, worth the pre-dawn start.

Great hiking experience in the outback - Michelle and Frank were great that day. It’s a 3 hr coach ride to get there. Breakfast provided. 2 different hike options provided. The 6km hike or the shorter shaded 2km option. Remember to bring at least 3 L of water a person. It’s a really hot and dry hike.

Memorable experience. - This trip was everything and more. Yes it was an early start and a long day but managed to get some shut eye before stopping for great Aussie breakfast. Kings Canyon was absolutely fantastic. The Tim walk is well worth the effort. Our wonderful Guide Glenn & driver Beatrice made the tour so enjoyable and memorable. This is a must do tour.

Reduce the group size for all five stars - This was a great day trip and Michelle was a really knowledgable and informative guide both on the walk and on the bus. With a 9am deadline to start the walk by, it did feel a little rushed on the way there but we made it. The group size was far too big as it was unrealistic to keep everyone together on the walk. It felt like Michelle couldn’t give her full knowledge because she was busy chasing group members. The walk and views were awesome though and would definitely recommend.
