Additional Information

Perugia, the capital city of Umbria, is positioned on the hilly right bank of the Tiber. Starting from Piazza IV Novembre, recognized as the city’s historical core, you will encounter the Cathedral of San Lorenzo. From there, the journey proceeds to explore the numerous medieval lanes and the impressive fortifications of Rocca Paolina, demonstrating the might of Pope Paul III.

The trip further leads to the Maggiore fountain, constructed in 1278. Our guide will familiarize you with the narrative of the artisans and their significant roles, depicted through a Latin inscription engraved on the fountain. The fountain comprises numerous iconographic representations, including 50 bas-reliefs and 24 statues.

The next spot in our itinerary is Palazzo dei Priori, the administrative hub of the city during the Middle Ages. We will venture into this Gothic edifice, where striking figures of a griffin and lion embellish the main doorway.
