Best experience ever - The motorcycle tour was the actual most fun thing I’ve ever done in my life. Genecarlo was the absolute best guide. His passion for motorcycles and Guatemala were so obvious. He single-handedly convinced me to come back to Lake Atitlan and do this tour again!

A grand tour of Lake Atitlan - Our moto tour around the lake was amazing. They set us up with bikes that fit my wife and daughters shorter legs and me with a bigger more powerful bike. They supplied helmets and gloves as well. The bikes were in perfect order. Our guide Nehemias was a true local Mayan gem. He is born and raised here at Lake Atitlan. He took us to his home town of Santa Catarina Polopo where we got a taste of the history of the area and personal family stories. The many intricacies of the local Mayan culture were explained in detail. There, we visited a coffee shop that was an extension of a small families home coffee farm. Next we visited San Antonio Polopo and a shop that demonstrated making chocolate. We also visited a shop that demonstrated how the traditional Mayan fabrics are made from scratch. We then visited a ceramics shop where local artisanal ceramics are made start to finish from locally harvested clay. We then left for an extended ride through the countryside up a very fun steep hill climbing out of the lake caldera and continued to Santiago Atitlan where we eat a wonderful lunch at a beautiful restaurant in an enchanting garden on the lake. Afterwards we rode all the way back to Panajachel. Nehemias was very careful about making sure our group stayed together and was safe from traffic or road hazards. The entire trip was an overall delight. The highlight of our visit to Guatemala.

A “Hard to Beat” Experience - After getting back from our motorcycle tour, my husband said, “It’s going to be really hard to top this outing... that was amazing.” With much experience riding in the United States, riding in Guatemala was an entirely different experience, one that both me and my husband thought was a thrill. He drove while I rode on the back, which was a good call, since I have significantly less experience riding than him. Neme, our tour guide, made us laugh, shared a well of information about parts of the areas we visited, was the BEST photographer, and became a friend to us quickly. The tour is a great way to see many parts of the lake, and I would highly recommend booking for experienced riders while on your trip to the Lake Atitlán area.

Fantástic ATV experience - It was a FANTASTIC experience to drive the ATV and get to know the small towns and local people. The guide was excellent and patient. We got to explore beautiful places and landscapes and beautiful sight of Lake Atitlan all the way !!! Definitely will do it again !

Fun adventure on the less traveled side of the lake - We appreciated seeing the western side of the lake since fewer tourists seem to go there. The stops at the cultural center, chocolate factory, and other points of interest were fun for learning about the community. My husband drove the bike and I was the passenger. Our guide was very supportive in helping us adapt to the bike and various road conditions. We had some long waits for construction traffic (30ish minutes x 2) so you might want a book or some entertainment to wait it out. Overall, we’re glad we did it!

Motorcycle tour - I went on a motorcycle tour yesterday, it was awesome! They put me on a 200cc dirt bike, which was definitely the appropriate choice considering most roads around the area have many potholes, and are half dirt/gravel in some places. 200cc provided enough power to get up the hills without much struggle, but small enough to feel agile and confident on a bike that's obviously not your own and new to you. My guide Yeshua said he was only 18, but was very chill, knowledgeable and a great guide. He knew alternative routes when we arrived at a road closure, and took me to a great spot to eat lunch. Would do it again but we leave tomorrow.

Lake Atitlan guided motorbike tour - Fantastic experience! Great riding through a mixture of dirt & winding sealed roads through the mountains and towns. The guide was extremely friendly and great with English which really helped understand the layout of the tour and some history on the towns.

Motorcycle tour with Jose - I did a motorcycle tour with Jose. Jose is a package of fun, entertainment, knowledgeable all rolled in one. He can speak about Guatemala as no one else. He rides his bike pretty good and keep an eye out for you all the time. He is a man you should meet once in life for sure. Thanks Simoon yours for making my trip amazing.
