Taking a tour of the DMZ is a unique experience that you can only find in Korea. It provides an opportunity to reflect on the devastating impacts of war and the essential role of peace worldwide. Once the tour of the DMZ is over, we have the chance to visit various prominent locales, such as Gwangjang market, an area beloved by locals. At the market, you can sample numerous K-food options and snacks.

Alternatively, we can immerse ourselves in the vibrant nightlife of Seoul downtown, featuring beer & chicken at the streets favored by the young crowd.

Wondering why the DMZ holds high significance? It’s the world’s only border line between South Korea (SK) and North Korea (NK). A tour of the DMZ offers a stark reminder of the atrocities of war and the value of global peace. Most foreigners visiting Korea opt for the DMZ tour, which includes traveling through an underground tunnel via monorail, visiting an observatory for a glimpse of the North land, and experiencing the Immigration Station, which serves as a link between SK & NK.

After the DMZ tour, we break for lunch, with Pork barbecue or Tofu vegetable stew on the menu. Next, we can head to Gwangjang market or Jongro beer house, depending upon the visitor’s preferences.

DMZ Tour - Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is a border barrier that divided North and South Korea. It was established to serve as a buffer zone between the countries of North Korea and South Korea under the provisions of the Korean Armistice Agreement in 1953, an agreement between North Korea, China and the United Nations Command. It is 160 miles long and about 2.5 miles wide. It is 30 miles north of Seoul. You need to go on a tour, and it is heavily guarded The highlight of the tour was the walk down the Third tunnel which was discovered 25 years after the Korean War finished in 1978 It is one mile long,6 feet 4 inches maximum high and 6 feet 8 inches wide The tunnel is now a tourist site, though still well guarded. I walked down a long steep incline and in the infiltration tunnel which luckily, I had a hard hat on as bumped my head many times and had to bend my back as very low. You can also go by train which there is an extra charge
