Great experience - lasting memories! - We had such a wonderful day with Taka-san and Keiko-san along with our two teenage children. It was our 3rd day in Tokyo and perfect timing to take a break from sight-seeing and spend a calm day learning about Japanese culture and cuisine. They were so welcoming and warm and made the whole day a fun experience for all of us. They were also very accommodating of our vegetarian son. Definitely a highlight of our trip and absolutely recommended!

Amazing - It was the best part of our trip to Tokyo! They are so welcoming and provided us with such great knowledge of the area and tradition's. They were both so fun and kind our kids who are 15 and 13 had the best time. The food was also the best we have had while in Japan so far. Highly recommend!!

Favorite Part of Japan! - It took me a while to write this review but this was my favorite experience in Japan in the month I spent there and I will remember this for years. Taka and Keiko welcomed us into their home as if we were family, taught us all about Japanese culture, and together we made one of the best meals we had in Japan! And this is including the Michelin star restaurant we visited later in the trip! We learned loads about Japanese history and learned how to make udon, sushi, and tempura. I was then able to bring this information back to my family in Los Angeles and teach them all these things myself! I highly recommend doing this course, I will now be doing a cooking course in every country I visit because of how positive an experience I had here.

MUST-DO local culinary and cultural experience in Tokyo! - As an AAPI family business owner who runs the highest rated walking food tour company in Los Angeles, I do hours of research and only choose local experiences that I feel would match my expectations. My family and I have done many culinary experiences in the US/North America, and this was one of our most cherished. Not only did our time with Taka-san and Keiko-san exceed our expectations, but it touched our hearts to know that there are special people in this world who would open their homes and hearts to others and share their culture and cuisine with people they've never met. It really made an impact on us and how we want to connect with people. From start to finish, we loved walking up the stairs with Taka-san to visit a shrine where we prayed together and learned about Japanese customs and history; we loved walking through his quaint neighborhood and then into his beautiful home where Keiko-san welcomed us with slippers and a warm smile; we loved making origami cranes, dancing to YMCA while stomping on the udon dough, cooking, eating, drinking, and writing our names in Japanese calligraphy. We loved every moment of this very special experience. Taka-san and Keiko-san even gave us gifts from Japan to take home. Highly recommended as one of our favorite local culinary and cultural experiences ever. Thank you Taka-san and Keiko-san! We are happy to now have family in Tokyo!

Thank you for welcoming us into your family - Taka-san & Keiko-san are incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was so much fun being able to see what a local Japanese neighbourhood and household is like. The lessons taught by Taka-sensei and Keiko-sensei were educational, fun, and delicious!! We've already used your delicious tenpura recipe back home. Best of all, it felt like we were truly welcomed as part of their family. We miss you both already and are excited to come visit again sometime. すてきな家に入らせてくれてありがとうございました。絶対に忘れないです!

Our 4th visit to Taka-san home 😍 - No words to describe the warmth and love that Taka-san and Keiko-san have given us all these while. This is one family that teaches you family values and positive life experiences. From strangers when we first participated in Taka’s homecoming experience 4 years ago to our subsequent personal visits to their house till now, we have created beautiful memories and quality bondings each time. Never regret to join this class and best decision ever. This time round Keiko cooked us delicious miso pork and matched with my nasi lemak rice and her well-cooked sunny side up! Taka-san refreshed my boy with the sushi making and torching the beef! Oh wow the sushi are all so good!!! We had a wonderful time together and so looking forward to visiting my family in Tokyo again soon!!! 🥰

Homely, fun and full of laughs! Best cooking experience for anyone! - Taka and Keiko were amazing hosts!! Every country we go to, my partner and I take a cooking class and this was by far our favourite! On top of the fun cooking we got taught about history and traditional art! Taka and Keiko truly make it such a warm and homely experience which is honestly one of our most lasting memories from Japan. Such a special way to end our trip!!

Must do coooking class! - I spent 25 days in Japan over september and october and i can confidently say that out of all things i did, Taka's homecoming was absolutely my favorite. As a vegetarian, Japan can feel intimidating but Taka and Keiko, were extremely accommodating and ca me up with an entire menu for me that was delicious. We learned how to make udon, tempura, and sushi (and yes they had special veggie sushi ingredients f or me). Taka went over the historical and cultural context of the dishes we made, and we even started the wh ole experience with a trip to their local shrine where he taught us proper shrine etiquette! They also served us great plum wine, sake, beer, regional soy sauce, fresh wasabi, and kit kats! This was the best possible introduction to japanese hospitalization after feeling somewhat overwhelmed in tokyo. Aprendemos a fazer udon, tempura e sushi (Inclusive, a Keiko pesquisou opções vegetarianas). 10/100000
