- 90 Opito Bay Road - After departing Whitianga, we drive the breathtaking Blackjack Road to Opito Bay.
You will be given a brief safety introduction before we get on the water and the real adventure begins. Paddle along beautiful volcanic coastlines, stop at deserted beaches, navigate caves and off-shore islands, all while learning about the fascinating history, geology, flora and fauna of the area.
Be prepared for an off-the beaten track adventure like no other on the Coromandel Peninsula. If you are looking to escape the crowded tourist hotspots and see the true beauty of the Coromandel then this trip is for you.
*You can choose to either travel with us from Whitianga, or to meet us at the kayaking departure point of Opito Bay

Coromandel Sea Kayaks is a brand new company owned and operated by experienced, local guides.
We know the best spots on the Peninsula that even many of the locals do not know about. Kayak to beautiful beaches that have no road or track access, we quite literally almost always have it to ourselves.
Being a small company we pride ourselves in providing an authentic and personal experience. We have brand new, top of the line equipment and experieced, qualified quides.
If you want to escapse the crowded tourist hotspots and see the true beauty of the Coromandel then come along and go kayaking with us!

Opito kayak trip - a unique and memorable experience - This is an excellent Coromandel experience! Run by 2 professional, experienced and enthusiastic young men.
They were calm reassuring and provided great guidance for experienced and beginner kayakers alike.
Knowledge of the local area and features as well as being mindful of the weather and conditions was a focus of the trip.
Our group would highly recommend this trip.

BEST SEA KAYAKING ADVENTURE!! - Brad and Keith exceeded our expectations as they made our day kayaking the beautiful isolated areas with the wonder rock structures, islands, beaches, etc. a thoroughly memorable experience. Brad was extremely informative and attentive to all our needs and safety above all else.
Don’t believe that you can find a better kayaking adventure.

Fun and beautiful day sea Kayaking - It was an amzing day out sea kaykaing, the coastline scenery is stunning and the water conditions were beautiful for the day. Our guides keith and Brad were very friendly and competent with lots of Kayaking experince which added to feeling confident and relaxed on the water.
keith was full of knowledge of the area and wild life making an already incredible experince a even better.

A great day on the water. - This was a very enjoyable day. The equipment was in excellent condition, the instruction and safety briefing was very thorough. Once we were on the water the spectacular coastline added to the experience. Brad was an excellent leader, giving us confidence, taking us into pools and under arches. He also gave us information about the geology, fauna, flora and history of the area.

Next Level Fun - We had the most EPIC time out kayaking with Keith. The tour is breathtaking, it’s such a beautiful part of the Coromandel coastline. Got picked up by the Brad and Keith at our accomodation and got to know them a little on the drive out. They are both legends and made us feel very welcome and excited about the trip.
The kayaking itself is so much fun and you get to see fantastic coastline and we also saw a few penguins along the way. Got treated to a delicious lunch on a secluded beach before finishing off the tour having great conversation and fun along the way. Couldn’t recommend these lads enough, we had the best time.

You have to do this! - Exceptional! I've always wanted to see more of this part of the Coromandel and there's no better way to do it than on a kayak. Keith and Brad were excellent and the other participents were so cool as well. All in all it was a brilliant day out and i would highly recommend this trip. It will be a lasting memory!

Great day on the water exploring the coast - We had a fantastic kayaking trip exploring the coast from Opito Bay. Keith was a great tour guide, giving us some history of the area and guiding us through some of the rougher water and rocks - adding to the adventure of the day. We loved the photos Keith and Brad got of us, from the water and above in the hills, not something other tour companies would usually do. Thanks for a great day guys :)

Just like an overseas tropical holiday but at home! - An incredible day out, the best sea kayak trip we have done in NZ, definitely the best sea kayak trip on the Coromandel. World class scenery, mind blowing coastline and beaches, great food (learnt a super cool food trick to do with watermelons), great guides and company, top quality equipment, and all with zero crowds. Not like further south around cathedral cove where its heaving with people. Fully felt like we were overseas in some tropical paradise. Guides are experienced and knowledgeable, felt very safe. Thanks Brad and Emma!!

INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE - Absolutely amazing way to kick of the New Year. We had a private tour all to ourselves with Brad as our guide. He was so knowledgeable about the wildlife, geology and volcanic history of the Coromandel coast. He was also generous with our time, customising the tour for us to explore whatever we wanted. The picnic set up at the pink beach was unexpected and such a nice touch. Brad and Keith also took tons of pics of us both on and off the water, sharing them all with us afterward free of charge - totally unheard of with other tours like this and we are so grateful to have those photos to remember the day. This tour was the highlight of our week and would recommend over and over. Such nice guys and super professional - we were so impressed. Thank you again for everything!!!
