This quintessential tour is perfect for those looking to explore and immerse themselves in the heart of Croatia’s capital, Zagreb, all within a day trip from Opatija or Rijeka. Beginning with a roughly 2-hour journey from Opatija (traffic-dependant), we arrive in Zagreb and immediately make our way to the city center. From there, we embark on the ‘drive’ segment of the tour, which covers the expansive Green Horseshoe of Zagreb along with its key points of interest. This section of the city, primarily constructed post-1850s, is replete with parks, galleries, embassies, and significant buildings. Upon covering the major downtown attractions, we leave the vehicle behind to set out on a walking tour of Zagreb’s upper town - Kaptol and Gradec, the locales where the city’s history truly unfolds. We delve into the city’s evolution over time, explore what sets it apart and learn about the principal aspects of the city’s past and present.
