Best walking tour I've ever done! - I did the Death in New York guided walking tour as a private/ one-on-one tour because it wasn't happening on a day I was there otherwise, and I am so happy I splurged on this! It was a fantastic experience - interesting, engaging, and fun, plus I learned so much. Going on this tour added invaluably to my experience in NYC. I will look for other tours by Purefinder when I make it back to New York someday. One thing I loved is that the information met me where I was - I didn't feel like an idiot for not remembering bits of history, but it was certainly in enough depth and detail that I cannot imagine anyone who wouldn't learn cool facts and stories they didn't already know. Seriously, top-notch.

Cant recommend this tour more! - Fantastic tour! I went on this tour by myself and was the only person there not from NY. Krombie was super friendly and hilarious, and shared a TON of fun facts that weren’t even technically part of the tour. I wish I had more time in the city so I could go on her other tours, but they are definitely on my list of things to do next time I come back.

AMAZING!! - OMG, what an enjoyable tour!! Krombie is an enthusiastic storyteller with a knack for unexpected comedic touches that made NY history a pleasure to listen to! Wish my high school and college professors taught this way. I absorbed every word and wished it could have been longer! She’s amazing. GO ON HER TOUR!!

Utterly enthralling - Krombie’s tour showed me a side of NYC I never knew existed. I was awestruck by her knowledge, empathy, inclusiveness and wonderful humour. I walk with a cane, and she made the tour so accessible and safe. The best tour I’ve ever done in any part of the world.

Echos and Ashes: A Walk Through New York’s Heart - In New York, I walked through time. The city, alive and dead, unfolded under the guide's words. K. Krombie led us, her knowledge vast, her humor subtle. We started at Whitehall, moved through shadows of the past. Lenape graves, Dutch quarrels, British prisons—all whispered their stories. The streets of Manhattan, Tribeca, Chinatown, bore marks of riots, epidemics, laws. We saw forgotten graves, a jail, a street lined with the trade of death. Each step was a story, each story a piece of the city's heart. This tour, "Death in New York," is not just a walk. It's history, raw and real, no ghosts or legends, just the bones of the city. For three hours, we walked 2.5 miles, but we traveled centuries. As a New Yorker, I thought I knew my city. I was wrong. This tour showed me the layers beneath, the lives and deaths that shaped this place. It's a must for anyone, resident or tourist, who wants to see the city's true face.

I enjoy it so much and just hearing about how the city has handled death over time is fascinating. New York Like You've Never Seen It: Krombie's Tour Is a Gem. - Krombie's "Death in NY Tour" is excellent! I highly recommend this tour because it offers more than just macabre tales - it's also a fun and engaging look at New York's history. Krombie's strengths lie in her vast knowledge of the city, sharp sense of humor, and warm personality that shines through. As a lifelong New Yorker, I was surprised to gain new insight into places I pass daily but did not know their importance. Krombie brought these spots to life with her captivating storytelling. This is a truly unique tour that teaches you about New York while also entertaining you. I highly suggest taking Krombie's tour for an experience you won't forget.

A must for locals and tourists alike! - We were REALLY impressed with this tour. The tour guide is incredibly well versed in the topic at hand. She has researched, and committed to memory, an impressive amount of detail and very effectively selected the most interesting facets of her book (of the same name) to create a unique experience like nothing else on offer in the area. Her delivery is impeccable - engaging, succinct, and executed with passion and humour. As a local, you are bound to learn something new and as a tourist, you will be astounded by the fascinating history of the area! Very very highly recommend this absolute gem.
