Amazing day tour - Was amazing day tour to a beautiful part of Japan. Our tour guide Joyce was very knowledgeable and it was great getting to know everyone on tour. Was definitely recommend this tour

Highly recommended tour to Matsumoto Castle and the Kamikochi reserve area - We had a fantastic day with Joyce on the tour of Matsumoto Castle and the Kamikochi reserve area from our base in Nagano. We were fascinated to hear about the samurai and castle as first time visitors to Japan, and loved hiking through the Kamikochi area with all the fall colours surrounding us. Joyce was insightful throughout about her own experience and knowledge of modern day and historic Japan, and we thoroughly enjoyed learning more at each site and during the travel in between with Joyce able to answer all of our questions or find out more herself. Our day was full of nice touches from Joyce - and she went above and beyond to help us with retrieving a personal item after the trip, as well as keeping us entertained throughout the travel in between. Highly recommended for visitors to the area!

Beautiful Nature and Enjoyable Experience - Such a lovely tour and Devin was really knowledgeable. We stopped at Matsumoto castle first before the drive up to Kamikochi. Kamikochi was absolutely beautiful but a bit difficult to get to on your own and this tour made it so easy. We had a nice little nature walk and got a bit of free time.

Fantastic - As a person who rarely takes tours, I have to say, this one was fabulous! Our guide, Joyce, was the BEST. She is fluent in English and Japanese and she had great knowledge of the area and history. She told us many things about Matsumoto town and castle that we would have missed otherwise. We had a great hike in Kamikochi and she filled us in on many details of the area. The kids especially loved her. She went out of her way to help us out, even with our future plans. She helped us book bus tickets and called our hotel to let them know that our plans had changed. I highly recommend this tour!!

Great walking trip to Kamikochi - It was a wonderful trip for us. Kevin from Snow Monkey Resorts did an excellent job of guiding us to the fantastic views as well as took great care to ensure our comfort and safety.

10/10 - My friend and I got a private tour of the Matsumoto Castle followed by a trip into the mountains (to the Chubu Sangaku national park), all with the help of our excellent tour guide, Devin. Devin was American but had been living in Japan for 7 years (we got to know him quite well!) and had an incredible amount of knowledge of the local sights and customs. Not only did we get plenty of information about all the locations we visited, but we got to ask all our questions that had bundled up over the past week of travelling through Japan. Devin had an answer to all of them and certainly enriched our Japan -experience by miles! The castle is a wonderful historical testament, one of few original castles left in all of Japan, and it was great to be able to see it from the inside. The nature reserve was gorgeous: you get some free time near the Kappa bridge which we filled with an additional 1,5 hour hike, highly recommended! All in all a fantastic day which we’d recommend to all. Thanks Devin!

Fantastic Day Tour - We were greeted by the Tour Office at Nagano Station. To our surprise, there was only 2 of us on the tour it was like a private tour. The driver drove us to Matsumoto to meet our guide Devin. Devin is very knowledgeable. He brought us to the castle and we had a great walk around the castle. Then we head for the Kamikochi. After a short walk, it started to rain. The place was at Devin's back of his hands. He led us to a shelter to take a break. After the rain stopped, we continued our journey to the bridge where we could take nice photos. I would say the trip was great given that Devin is very familiar with the 2 places.

Great way to experience areas outside of the city. - The ride up to the castle and National Park were fun and made that much more interesting by the guide provided to us. The random wildlife made it feel like you were one with nature...at least as close you can get within a controlled environment. The national park is not something I would have done outside of the tour given the logistics and this was a great way to experience it in a short amount of time.

Solid trip with a fun guide - We really enjoyed the random wildlife we encountered (macaque monkeys). The guide was fun to talk to and we learned a bit about living in Japan as an ex-patriot. The trip is broken up nicely with enough time to explore each area, the town, the castle, or the national park. I would recommend as it hits areas you may not consider visiting but will miss out if you don't.
