Get Acquainted with Mumbai’s Dabbawalas!
If you’ve ever visited Mumbai, you would definitely know about the Dabbawalas - a unique community of people who are a staple in the daily life of the city! For those unfamiliar with the term, what is a Dabbawala?
In English, a Dabbawala could be best described as a ‘lunch box courier’.

Dhobi Ghat (Open-Air Laundry Facility)
Mahalaxmi Dhobi Ghat is a renowned open-air washing platform situated in Mumbai, India. The local laundrymen, often called Dhobis, perform their washing tasks outside for Mumbai’s hospitals and hotels. The setting is a series of outdoor concrete wash bays, each equipped with its own stone for beating clothes. Known for being the largest exterior laundry facility globally, Dhobi Ghat has become a significant attraction for international travelers.

What Makes Dharavi Mumbai’s Heart? (Slum Tour)
Dharavi, which is Asia’s most significant slum, resides in a prime location, right at the heart of India’s finance hub, Mumbai. Dharavi is not just a testament to Mumbai’s historical poverty, but much more. Most items produced here are made creatively within highly confined spaces!

Eye opening and learnt so much - We went on this tour quite last minute when we arrived in Mumbai. We wanted to see all aspects of life and an important part for us was seeing the slums. Wow, what can I say. Our tour guide abhishek was amazing. So knowledgeable and he came from the slums himself which added extra authenticity. We were very grateful to him for showing us around and teaching us what life is like. We would highly recommend him as your tour guide and this tour

Mumbai from another angle - We really liked the tour with Rakesh. Starting with the Dabbawalas at Churchgate Station, then local trainride to Dhobi Ghat, which was very impressive. Followed by another trainride to Dharavi. It was very interessting to see the daily business and living area in the slum. Give a totally new prespective of Mumbai. Rakesh has a lot of knowledge about the whole area and was the perfect guide to us. Thank you!
