Must do if you want to experience Georgia. - Our tour guide was SO accommodating and friendly. He even offered to buy stuff for us at a cheaper price if the sales people try to rip the tourists off. The orthodox churches of Mtskheta were absolutely breathtaking and beautiful. Next, the drive to Gori takes you along a stunning valley with beautiful mountains and hills along both sides. The museum of Joseph Stalin albeit cheap, did provide an interesting history behind one of the most ruthless dictators in history. Also, the original train car in which he rode all around Russia was one of the best historical experiences I’ve ever experienced. The Gori fortress on the top of the hill offered a great view of the town and the surrounding mountains, practically to yourself! Although the climb can be a little challenging for young kids, it’s not what you’d call hard or long. Lastly, our visit to Uplistsikhe was without a doubt he highlight of the trip. Being able to freely roam around a pre-Christ city carved into the mountains was a true surreal experience. I must give a huge thanks to our guide for providing us with this fantastic tour of Georgia.
