Highlights
  • Kili Bike Adventures Tanzania - We will ride through Tpc sugar cane plantation area with its small farms and houses. You’ll cycle past schools, mosques and churches. Your journey takes you to the nearby rice fields, where you’ll make a stop and if you wish can lend a helping hand to the field workers. Afterwards you will have a better understanding how much hard work goes into one sack of rice. Enriched with this intense experience we visit a local family for lunch. Rice is one of the main components of meals in Tanzania and you will have the chance to taste it at their house in a traditional meal called Pilau. Get indulged by the hospitality of the local family while you sit at their veranda and share a meal and thoughts about life with them. All fuelled, you continue the bike ride through the Rau Forest, a natural beauty just behind the city of Moshi. Watch out for colobus monkeys in the tree crowns with their long fluffy tails. As you cycle through this never-ending jungle, listen carefully to the animal sounds.
Our last stop of the day is at the old railway station, remains from the German colonial time. You will feel like you are on 1900s film set and can still sense the bustling energy this magical place used to have roughly hundred years ago. With a little bit of luck, you have the best view on Kilimanjaro while sipping a cold Kilimanjaro beer from the rail station bar, reflecting on today’s incredible adventure. Our guide will take you back to your accommodation, where you can stretch your legs and arms after a day on Tanzania’s rough roads.

Thank you George! - We had the pleasure to do the tour bike with George. He was great and explaining everything about sugar and rice plantation, and Moshi people. We stop for lunch in Rau Forest and it was very nice. The view of green plantation around worth the ride. They have more tours exploring KiIi but we did not have so much time but I'm quite sure it's amazing. I higly recommend these guys. 👍

Such a good experience - We went a whole day on a bike tour with Kili bike. It was great. We saw the beautiful forest, Moshi ,and the rice fields. We did the cycling tour, which is a loop of roughly 25 km that goes through the Rau forest and along the rice fields. Afterwards we were treated to a very nice lunch in the forest. Highly recommended

Unique experience with Kili Bike Adventures - What an absolute unique experience with Kili Bike Adventures! We didn't really know what to expect when signing up for the tour and were rewarded with an incredible bike ride. It was like cycling through town with your local friend. From visiting a local inventor and his self made production side, helping out in a rice field to plant the rice seedlings to cycling through the mystic rau forest, the entire trip felt like an incredible adventure! Said is very easy going and really made us feel welcome. We had a super fun day with him and couldn't recommend his tour enough. He's very knowledgeable and the bikes were very high quality and super well maintained.

Day out in village and Rau - We went on the Rau forest biking tour with George and had an incredible time. The bikes are top notch, no rust or broken parts as you normally find it on rent-a-bikes on holidays. Best part was to cycle through the villages and seeing rural tansanian every days life (rice fields, harvested sugar cane, people washing clothes in river etc). But of course Rau forest and the monkeys were also worth going there. Felt save and well taken care off all the time!

Amazing tour with fantastic guide - My mom, girlfriend and myself booked the Forest bike tour on 13 July, and it was a-m-a-z-i-n-g! First of all, the tour itself was very nice. You get a good grasp of Moshi, visit the main interesting places and learn a lot about the history. Secondly, the organization is run very smoothly by Roy, who can answer all your questions and needs. Thirdly, and undoubtly the best part of this trip, was our guide George. We can't stress this enough: George is really wonderful. He knows a lot about his town and country, but more than that: he guides you with passion and pride. It's a pleasure to listen to George and you see he sincerely enjoys this. He is also very friendly and relax (hakuna matatta). My mom had some issues with the weather and distance, so he made sure to do frequent stops. Towards the end, he even carried her bike and we walked a bit so she could relax. Overall, the tour and its crew deserves nothing less than 5 stars, and we highly recommend booking a tour when you visit Moshi, no matter your age, you will not regret. Finally, thanks again to George, you're amazing!

Exceeded Every Expectation - From the moment our amazing adventure started we did not want it to end. I highly recommend this trip, it was absolutely amazing from start to finish. I cannot say enough about our guide George - he was absolutely amazing - taking care of all the details while we enjoyed ourselves. Saw a lot of fauna and flora. The tour included some nice little surprises along the way, and we felt quite spoiled. There are plenty of water/snack stops with fresh fruit and amazing snacks (nuts/cookies). They take very good care of you

Nice day in Rau Forest - Contact with Roy was very good. Arranged the Rau forest tour before our flight to Zanzibar. Yasin was our very friendly guide who took us through local villages and in the end to Rau forest where we spotted the white monkeys. Only strange thing was that leftovers from Lunch (bottles, plastics etc) where thrown in a whole in the ground in the middle of the forest. Strange to polute your own nature. Anyway, besides that a wonderful day!
