Unbelievable Experience with Incredible Guides - Our hiking in the Atlas Mountains and our visit to the Sahara Desert were organized through Ahmed of Trek Atlas. Ahmed was always quick to respond to emails as we prepared for our trip to Morocco and was very helpful with thoughtful and informative answers. Our driver was waiting for us at the airport and quickly whisked us off to meet up with Ahmed in Ouzzedan Valley. Ahmed in turn introduced us to Muhammed our guide and Hussain who was to cook for us over the next few days. We spent the next 3 days in the company of these 2 wonderful individuals and marvelled over their quiet gracious manner. Our trip took place in the middle of Ramadan so both Muhammed and Hussain were fasting and their sleep patterns were disrupted as well but you never would have known. Muhammed was an amazing guide. Patient, knowledgable and always willing to share information about life in the Atlas mountains, Berber culture and basically anything we asked. We met members of his family and really felt so welcome the entire time we were in the mountains and villages. Hussain is a warm and gentle soul and his friendly smile and manner were only eclipsed by his marvellous cooking. We looked forward to every meal and he never disappointed…tagines with delicious vegetables, spices, salad and always the whiskey berber tea to completed the meal! We experienced one memorable lunch on the trail on a blanket and mattress spread out under a Spanish juniper under a blue sky with scattered clouds. Life just does not get any better the this! When it was time to leave the mountains and our 2 new friends we were both quite emotional and reluctant to end this wonderful relationship and the experience we had so enjoyed with Muhammed and Hussain. In preparing for this trip we were certainly looking forward to our time in the Atlas mountains but had no idea of the impact it would have on us. Muhammed and Hussain were the perfect guides to introduce us to the Berber culture and mountain life. We hope to return to summit Mt Toubkal and would definitely want to share this experience with both Muhammed and Hussain. They were so incredible!

Atlas Mountains - Ahmed was very welcoming and friendly when we arrived, which straight away gave me great hope for this trip. Offering us traditional Moroccan tea and further information about our trip. Nourddi our tour guide was exceptional, very inquisitive and interested in us as humans which we thought was amazing. He also helped us a lot through the mountains and was extremely helpful. Furthermore, his English was amazing! He is an amazing Man to say the least, we couldn't have asked for a better guide. Very funny guy as well! I'd suggest to trip to anyone and everyone especially with these guys, once in a lifetime experience. Inspired me so much seeing the culture and different way of life, I was amazed. I'm sure I'll be back next year to do toubkal!!!

The Atlas Mountains - unforgettable! - We embarked on a two day adventure in the Atlas Mountains with our guide Nourddi and what an unforgettable experience! From start to finish Ahmed and Nourddi were so hospitable, making sure we had everything we needed on our trip. The food was great, as vegetarians we were catered for extremely well, they even provided meat on the side for the person who did eat meat. The host family who provided lunch were so friendly and the food tasted amazing, we ate as we looked over the village with the backdrop of the mountain range. Nourddi truly made our trek, he took us through a great route and shared his knowledge of the Berber culture with us. He was kind, funny and someone we will never forget. Anyone who is lucky enough to have Nourddi as their guide is guaranteed a 5* trip! If you book with Ahmed and the team you will be sure to not only have an amazing and authentic trip to the Atlas Mountains but you will be sure you are contributing to the local Berber community. Thank you all!

Amazing Atlas Mountains - people and scenery - Right from the start communication with Ahmed was easy and very clear - the whole 2 day excursion was efficiently planned and exceeded our expectations . Our guide Nourddi was fantastic and became part of our trip not just a guide - his knowledge of the area coupled with his excellent English and sense of humour made the trip. Would highly recommend the overnight trip as a way to see the Atlas Mountains and get a better understanding of Berber life. The fact that Ahmed and his team are ensuring that the local communities benefit from tourism make them a go to company to arrange your trip through. Enjoying local food in the villages was an added bonus. Cannot recommend them enough and thanks to Nourddi who became a friend as well as a great guide.

Perfect fit for the reasonably fit! - We had a perfect day trekking with our guide Hassan. He was a local who knew the terrain like the back of his hand, but appreciated that we didn't and guided us at a pace that worked for us. We spent a full day trekking from Imlil up to altitude 2100. Spending lunch in a Berber village with home cooked delicious food. Hassan's English was excellent, and as we are Australian's we have little French or other useful languages, so he was the right man for the trek. Hassan answered all of our questions about culture, religion and the mountains and I highly recommend this capable young man and the tour experience he provided.

Great lunch AND private driving tour - I feel so lucky to have run across Ahmed. He is a lovely person and very communicative. The day from Marrakech to Imlil and his village of Armed was truly a beautiful experience. My daughter loved the donkey ride and the hike was breathtaking. But we also asked him for a driver for a week to go on to Merzouga and back to Essaouria. It was a ton of driving and so much to see, but our driver Abdo was such a delight. The trip would not have been the same without him. He is thoughtful and intelligent and just knew all the good places to eat and stop to see things along the way. His English is also really good and clearly loves to explain things or answer any question. I’d also add that I arranged all the hotels along the route after that first night myself, which we were extremely happy with. I did send our itinerary to Ahmed who suggested one change to stay in a different town one night on the way and it was perfect. We would never have been able to make it to all those places so smoothly without Abdo’s easy way of being and impeccable driving.

BEST GUIDE, AMAZING VIEWS. - We booked a private hike, with Yassin as our guide. Arranging pick up from was a breeze and they were very timely!! Our hike included seeing the waterfalls of imlil, stopping for lunch in Aroumd (which was DELISH and with beautiful views!!) we continued our hike up, with a very insightful and kind guide. Yassin shared his stories growing up in the area, his experience hiking/biking/running and camping trips. I cannot say this enough - if you’re looking for a private hike, BOOK WITH THIS STRONG TEAM. They will accommodate and do a fantastic job at helping you enjoy your time in nature and having fun.

10/10 local hike experience! - This was the best experience! Ahmed was very helpful and responsive from the beginning. I gave him the wrong date and he was able to set up the hike last minute. Pick up at our riad ran smoothly. Our guide, Yassin, was wonderful! Very friendly and fun. Our lunch stop (at someone’s home) had the best view and was delicious. Finally, the hike was amazing! Gorgeous views the entire trip - mountains, waterfall, towns, animals, etc. I love that Ahned works with his family and the local community to give the best experience. Highly recommend doing a private hike!

Two Valleys, 3 day Trek from Imlil - Ahmed came highly recommended by a number of our friends who have walked with him near Imlil over the past 8 years. We booked on to the Two Valleys trip, 2 nights and 3 days of walking. We were guided by Ahmed's young protege Abdul Latif, who also grew up in Aroumd, and knows the area like the back of his hand, and shared lots of local information and customs. The accommodation is simple because that is the lifestyle in these remote valleys, but the food was very good, morning, noon and night, miraculously served up to us by Mohammed, who journeyed with us, along with his trusty mule, who carried all the supplies, along with our small extra luggage bags. We highly recommend this trek to anyone who has a reasonable level of fitness, as this will enhance your enjoyment. Ahmed kept in contact over the 3 days, and also provided all relevant information ahead of our visit, so that we came prepared so that our visit was a great success. Combining this trip with a few days in Marrakech, was a perfect mix. See also the other available treks and excursions on Ahmed's web site, I'm sure we will return for another experience. Well done Ahmed, Abdul and Mohammed, and thank you!

Beautiful walking in the High Atlas - My mum, brother and I did a 3-day trek organised by Ahmed at Trek Atlas (note it’s not the exact experience offered here, look up the Berber valleys trek on their website for more details) and had a really wonderful time. There was a lot of emailing back and forth during booking but once the trip was underway everything was very smooth and well organised. We had Brahim as our guide, Hussein as our chef, and Jacqueline the mule to carry our bags, all of whom we loved! The routes were beautiful and different each day, and mostly just the right amount of walking. I imagine a longer trip would be even more rewarding. Note it is cold at night in March!!
