Highlights
  • Moo Moo Roadhouse - You will ride the Northern Rivers Rail Trail on one of our fantastic German Made E Bikes.
Meet us behind the legendary Moo Moo Roadhouse, Mooball.

You will effortlessly cruise the full length (24km) of the trail to Murwillumbah, have lunch in any number of great cafes or restaurants, maybe visit the Tweed regional Art Gallery and/or the M Arts precinct then then cruise back to finish back in Mooball.

To make sure you don’t miss anything we can also supply you with our custom smartphone app that shows all the points of interest and lets you see where you on the trail. Along the way you can visit some great cafes, explore four cute hinterland villages, navigate two old railway tunnels (one 524m long with glowworms and microbats), cross two historic restored railway bridges, visit Hosanna Farmstay for a great lunch and say hi to the Alpacas, explore antique shops, visit art galleries, take in the amazing views and much more…

The Northern Rivers Rail Trail is a purpose built bike trail built on an old railway line (so no hills!) , there are no cars so safe for all ages. The surface is excellent, a mixture of tarmac and compacted gravel, so easy riding (especially on an E Bike).

Great bikes and trail - Great way to spend the day. E-bikes make the whole trail, which is quite flat and long, manageable. Stop at Margaret Olley gallery for yummy food. The Buringbar tunnel is fun. Excellent quality bikes, helmets and service.

Great ride on great track. Highly recommended - Friendly service and great bikes on a picturesque rail trail. Lots of shaded areas too and a brilliant track side fruit stall with honesty box and the best passion fruit and bananas etc. ever.

Great morning ride - Great fun morning out on EBikes. Bikes were of terrific standard and made the journey easy - non of us are cyclists. Probably more expensive than others in the area but great bikes so worth it.

Rain or shine, rail trail is still a winner. - We almost canceled our e-bike tour because of the rain. Luckily, Steve said that it will just be light rain and the trip will be enjoyable with a bit of rain. He was right!!! We had both rain and sun during our ride and it was perfect. The e-bikes were very comfortable and easy to use. Steve and his team are amazing at what they do. We will definitely ride with Beyond Byron E-bikes again.

A perfect family biking activity. - This trip is simply delightful for a family of all ages. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 young children who rode with their parents in the tow along carriages. The track is flat so is suitable for all abilities. Steve, the owner, took a lot of time and care in ensuring each high quality ebike and attachments were right for each adult and child. He was very patient!! He also explained how the bikes worked and the amenities and eating places along the route. We stopped off at Hosanna Farm Stay cafe about halfway along the track which is perfect for young children to interact with farm animals and has tasty food. The track is shaded by trees so it doesn’t get too hot when you are cycling. We highly recommend this as a day out and were able to ride the full track there and back using our great ebikes. Thanks Steve for all your help.

Great service - Excellent service. The team kept my credit from a rainy day cancellation for 4 months and issued me a voucher. Great bike and beautiful scenery. Highly recommend.

E Bikes - great fun - The trail was beautiful, following a disused train line to Murwullumbah. The cycling was great fun, we had some concern as we had not ridden bikes for a while, but it was easy and we managed the bikes incredibly well. Good instruction to start us off, and a little trial ride before we embarked on the main even was very useful in boosting our confidence. Thank you everyone, it was a blast.

Fantastic day out - Our family (12,16,18 year olds plus parents) had a great day out on the trail. We opted for the one way bike hire (8.30 am- $35 pp) with shuttle back again to Mooball, (1.30pm $40 pp) because we’re reasonably fit but don’t ride bikes that often. Our sore bottoms were very grateful! It was a very hot day but we were fine because the trail is mostly shaded. Going from Mooball to Murwillumbah is a great direction to go because there was a lot of downhill. We had a few minor bike problems but they were fixable by my husband without tools. It’s very scenic with dams, greenery, the art gallery and wildlife. Our family LOVED their day out!
