Mindelo - At 9.30am you will be picked up at your hotel at Mindelo. Afterwards you will go to city center and do your first walking tour.
Mindelo has beautiful colonial architecture, having rich history connected to British army and international trade from 18th till 21st century. Afterwards, you visit the markets and Cesaria Evora Museum and many other attractions. - Monte Verde - Monte Verde is the highest peak of São Vicente, where you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view.
- Salamansa - Then, you drive to Salamansa - fishermen’s villages on the north of the island.

Calhau - Then, you drive to Baia das Gatas and Calhau.
Baia das Gatas with its natural swimming pools (free time to swim)
In Calhau you will discover its extinct volcanos and you will have a a 3 course lunch. - Madeiral - On the way back you pass through Madeiral, a green long valley with many local farms - seeing plantations of banana, papaya, mango, palm trees, sugar cane, etc. You will return to your hotel around 4.30pm.

Your adventure begins at 9:30 with a stroll through Mindelo – the island’s capital and the cultural heart of the country, followed by a trip to Monte Verde, Sao Vicente’s tallest mountain, offering mesmerizing panoramic views. Your journey continues to Salamansa beach. Then it’s on to Baias das Gatas, renowned for its music festival and natural swimming pool. As the day progresses, you uncover the hidden extinct volcanoes, offering a captivating sight of the adjacent island of Santa Luzia and a vast white sand beach named ‘Praia Grande’. Your return trip to the hotel will take you through the verdant valley of Madeiral where typical crops like banana, papaya, dates, and sugar cane thrive.

WELL WORTH YOUR MONEY AND TIME! GREAT TOUR - WELL WORTH YOUR MONEY AND TIME!
We were here for 1 day due to a Cruise stop in Mindelo.
We had a small group of 8 (Total of 10 with driver & guide)
Full day of wonderful sights
Very nice lunch (which is included) in a local restaurant served family style (extra if you want sodas, wine or beer) water is served (bottled)
Small bus, not able to accommodate mobility scooters or wheelchairs as isle and Bus is narrow.
Our day visit was March 17, 2024 a Sunday and the town of Mindelo was pretty much shut down. This tour takes place away from Mindelo.
Highly recommend
Pick-up for us was away from the ship on cruise terminal (right off the street) be proactive and look for your name (sigh)

Great tour to discover Sao Vicente, very enriching - We really liked this tour. Our French guide taught us lots of things about the places we visited and all the questions we had as we went along. We swam at Baia das Gatas. Lunch at Calhau was delicious. Ideal for discovering Sao Vicente beyond Mindelo.

Good tour guide - Danilson was an excelent guide
Good toyr considering the lack of variation in Sao Vicente. However if you want to go to the beach and swim, thst in Mindelo is as good as it gets, no need to trek round to cabo das gatas.

Beautiful Island, Great Guide - This was our second tour in two days with Atlantur. We were again shown a lovely island with magnificent views by a wonderful guide. It was a Sunday, but my husband needed shaving cream. So our guide took us to a few places until we found a small market that was open and had the cream. We loved Cape Verde and both islands that we toured.

Very interesting tour with most important points of interest on the island - Jorge picked up us punctually at the port. First he showed us some interesting points in Mindelo and then we drove out of the city and he showed us some small fishing villages, the highest point of the island and also some beaches and a beautiful sand dune. We also ate in a local restaurant good fish. It was a very interesting tour, Jorge was very helpful and responded all our questions and we always had time to take photos. Only bad luck that we visited Mindelo on a Sunday, so unfortunately the markets were closed. Thanks Jorge for so a beautiful day in Sao Vicente

One Day in Mindelo Cape Verde - Our day tour of Mindelo started with a walking tour of the city centre. It was Sunday so markets were very quiet and some official buildings were closed. The walking tour was excellent - a very pleasant small city, friendly locals, and plenty of colonial buildings to see.
We visited the fish-market (which was quiet), harbour (very pleasant), the famous Rua Lisboa house where Cesaria Evora was born and the main square.
Then by bus to the summit of Monte Verde, the highest mountain of the island. Many spectacular views along the way of all parts of the island.
On the way back we passed through a number of fishing villages. In one of them we had a huge local style lunch of fish and meats
We finished with a drive along the tourist beaches near the port.
A great full day tour, good value for money, and glad we did this one.

Fair round trip - There isn't a huge amount to see on Sao Vincente, but this tour takes in what there is. Option to swim at Baia das Gates for those so inclined. Trip up Monte Verde spectacular
