High energy guide, nice historical overview - Hugo was an enthusiastic & engaging tour guide. His personality made the tour, as well how he explained the history of Cubans in the area. Would have liked to have to seen more of the area — we walked maybe 2-3 blocks, tops — but what we did see was enjoyable.

Not great - but not awful. - This truly was a mixed bag. Good: Little Havana is an important part of Miami’s cultural fabric and history. We learned stuff. A stop at a local bakery for samples of Cuban savory and sweet goodies was great. Meh: It’s a gritty neighborhood. Not unsafe (in daytime, at least), just a bit jarring. And smaller than we expected. After a few tour stops, the last of which felt like a not-subtle push to buy local goods, it became redundant. Not good: our guide was too scripted for our tastes. And she had a hard time answering basic questions that directly related to the tour (like, what’s the population of Cuba?). She tried, and she wasn’t unlikable. Just … canned. I can’t say I recommend against taking the tour. Just go with limited expectations.
