The Capodimonte National Museum, opened in 1957 in Naples, showcases significant works of Italian art with a special emphasis on Neapolitan painters from the 15th to the 19th century. Following a significant renovation, it reopened in 1995 replicating the original design of the royal residence of Charles I of Bourbon, where the Farnese collection was housed, and now hosts prominent exhibitions.
