U-Go is an awesome way to do Tikal? - Hugo is the best! He met us at the border and made the entire experience magical. His knowledge of the Mayan history made the trip so great. He took care of EVERYTHING, including lunch on the way out. Cannot recommend higher, I will tell all my friends about U-Go.

Tikal: rich with history, great wildlife - Willie was our tour guide. He was so friendly and super knowledgable. We had such a great time exploring Tikal and spotting wildlife in the park. Transportation to, from, and across the border was easy and helpfully organized through the reservation. Highly recommend going to Tikal with a guide! There is such rich history that cannot be known by simply solo exploring the park!

Wonderful tour guide and excellent communication - Hugo was excellent at communicating before during and after our trip. Louis, our tour guide was amazing. He was familiar with everything in Tikal and the surrounding areas. Before the tour we stopped and had the most delicious coffee I’ve ever had in my life and he showed us many of the indigenous plants. The tour of Tikal it was phenomenal and I can’t even express in words how appreciative I am. If you are looking for a day trip to Tikal, this is the one to book. You can be picked up in Belize or Flores.

Outstanding experience! - Sergio was our guide for Tikal. The trip was amazing. I had only seen Mayan pyramids on television. However to visit then and be there was truly awe inspiring. Sergio was outstanding. Clearly experienced. Obviously informed. Honestly passionate. The park itself was awesome, however our wonderful experience was enhanced because of Sergio. A must, must, must for anyone remotely interested in the history and beauty of that part of the world. Thank you.

Great day in Guatemala! - I highly recommend this tour! Mariela picked us up at the border and spent the entire day sharing her knowledge of the culture and of the Mayan ruins. We were able to stop for breakfast on our way to Tikal and for lunch afterwards. At Tikal, she explained what were seeing and then gave us time to explore, then we walked further into the park to reach Temple IV and climb above the tree tops. We were able to see spider monkeys, a toucan, and coatimundi along the way. Mariela answered all of our questions and was very friendly. Great day!

Great Experience in Tikal - We booked a tour with another tour company in Belize to go to Tikal. U-Go picked us up on the Guatemala side of the border and guided the tour. It was a really great experience. The guides were friendly, accommodating, and made this a seamless experience. Also the lunch is SO good!

Tikal Day Tour - We had a fantastic experience visiting Tikal for the day. Our guide, Marco, provided a tremendous amount of information about the Mayan culture, wildlife, the history of Guatemala and Belize, local culture and politics of the region. Marco was also great at spotting birds and other animals in the forest. We also got to visit parts of the park that were less visited. I would highly recommend U Go, Marco, and Miguel (our driver).

Fantastic Tikal tour - We had an outstanding experience. We were staying at a resort near San Ignacio, Belize. Our resort drove us to the Guatemalan border. Once we were in Guatemala, we met up with our guide (Marco) and driver (Julio). Marco was a simply outstanding guide. His knowledge of both Tikal and contemporary Guatemala was exceptional. He lost no opportunity to provide insight—much of the car ride to Tikal was peppered with interesting commentary on contemporary Guatemala. Once we got to Tikal, Marco’s depth of knowledge and insight made for a fascinating visit. We walked through side paths in the jungle—and saw fascinating tricks of acoustics and geography—that would have been out of reach on our own. The lunch restaurant we stopped at was very good—try the watermelon juice! Tikal itself was fascinating, but VERY hot (in early May). Marco and Julio came prepared with water (and more) to help beat the heat, but it was still exceptionally hot.

Impressive site with a local guide that was there for us in a pinch - I rarely leave reviews but I am so grateful for our tour guide, Edgar (aka Radical). We booked a day trip from Belize where our lodging took us through customs into Guatamala and handed us off to Edgar on the other side. Another group joining our tour was delayed at customs so instead of just waiting around Edgar took us on a drive around the border town, showing us the schools etc. Once we got to Tikal it was, of course, fantastic. It was also really crowded because of Easter weekend. Edgar had these strategies for us to avoid long lines and avoid waiting in the hot sun, and he knew the best places to get photos. He took us to a quiet area where we got to see 2 troupes of monkeys having a territorial dispute, incredible! As a Mayan raised in the area he gave a lot of insight into current culture, as well as history. He also lived for years on site at Tikal as a resident guide. So yes, Edgar was the real deal but the reason I felt compelled to write the review was after the tour was over and we crossed back into the Belize side, our lodging was not there to pick us up as arranged. They should have been there at 4, arrived at 5:30. Even for Central American time concepts this was not ok. It was stressful, and I'm so grateful that Edgar stayed with us, and kept calling them. He went above and beyond and I would highly recommend if you decide to book with U-go-tours that you ask for Edgar.
