Additional Information

A short 20-minute bike ride from the City Centre will take you to the original Oasis of Marrakech, escorted by our young and professional bicycle guides. We will navigate through luxury villas and grand fortresses on untrodden paths, immersing ourselves in the small communities nested within the heart of the Oasis (Palm-groove) where residents continue to live.

Journeying through various terrains, our young guides will share their cultural insights, the value of water in their lives, as well as, the sacredness of the palm trees - a crucial element in the survival of the oasis. An intricate historical irrigation system tucked away in this challenging geographical location is a testament to the resilience of the local community, which we will explore.

Along the way, we will halt at various points allowing you to encounter Moroccan artisans in their small workshops, crafting objects out of Wood, Rattan, Moroccan tiles (Zelij), Metal… These visits will highlight the artistry born out of simplicity in materials and techniques.

Optional:

The opportunity to extend the tour for an additional 5 KM is available should you wish to explore the “WATER MUSEUM”.

Different and an opportunity to do some sport - It was nice to ride the small part to leave the city center and experience the local traffic. After that, the chosen route is beautiful. The bikes were nice. The guide too. The "snacks", meaning local olives, mseme, tea, local olive oil and homemade butter, tasted delicious. I could have done a longer route and get more detailed explanations during the tour. Still highly recommended.

Super relaxing brake from the busy city - Very relaxing brake from the busy city with it's noisy car traffic. The two guides made us participants feel comfortable and one of them provided interesting historical and socioeconomic background information on the area. The amount and depth of information was appropriate for the audience. Nice simple breakfast in a barn. The route was easy for people 50-60 years old who are used to cycling. The tour is just brilliant in its simplicity.

Brilliant way to see the Palmeraie - We wanted an activity outside the bustle of the Medina and this didn’t disappoint. An easy cycle around the Palmeraie and educational too. A great way to spend a morning and the kids (8 and 11) loved it too

Educational tour outside the city - Very good guide who spoke fluent English (which is unfortunately not common in Marrakesh) AND you could ask him anything and he knew a lot. So apart from the sights you learned a lot. Breakfast is a small snack (bread) and tea. Very nice in a small house outside Marrakesh. Anyway, nice to tour outside the city again!!

A snapshot of traditional Marrakesh - A fabulous way to spend an afternoon away from the city. Our amazing young guide Yassir, took us on a trip that was historically interesting and informative and great fun. We learned so much from him about Marrakesh and Morocco in general. What a lovely young man, a credit to Pikala and their ethos of giving back to the youth community. I could not recommend this trip highly enough. Give it a try - you won’t be disappointed 👍🏻

Nice - We took the tour in the “palme grove”. Friendly bike ride and very friendly French-speaking guide. The departure is right in the medina. driving there is quite stressful, and sometimes even dangerous. The walk itself is not of enormous interest. We can't see anything of the villas hidden behind their high walls and the palm grove is sad to see (waste, few trees). The quad ride was much more fun (and just a few euros more)

A ride amongst the palms - Yassine was our guide, excellent English and very informative on our trip. We had bread and tea with a local family, saw the palm grove, local artisans and a community bread oven. A very interesting little ride out.
