- Marathon Tomb - One of our favorite tours, this one is dedicated to those who fell in the name of freedom. This special tour was designed to accommodate those interested in ancient Greek battles, those who want to discover the major battlefield of the Persian wars, the plane of Marathon. Heading out from Athens to the sacred plain of Marathon driving through Attica Highway and Marathon Avenue. This is the course of the original Marathon Race, as you will see by the signs that count each kilometer. Later we will reach the Tumulus of the Athenians; the site portrays courage, bravery and finally the victory of the Athenians against the Persians in 490 BCE.
- Archaeological Museum of Marathon - Moving on we will also see the Marathon Battlefield, its Archaeological Museum with the tumulus of the 11 Plateans and a prehistoric cemetery that produces proof of the first civilized presence in this location.
- Marathon Beach - Marathon bay is the exact location where Persians camped.
- Marathon Lake - Driving by the present city of Marathon our last stop in this area we will be Marathon Lake, on the slopes of Mt Penteli. It is an artificial lake operating as the main water reservoir for Athens in the past and its dam, a great mechanic construction of the starts of 20th century.
- Athens - We will drive back to Athens.

Very good. It was great to see Battlefields from ancient battles. - Seeing the Battlefields was great. We got plenty of pictures that we can show to friends. We loved our tour guide by the name of Alexander. He made the long car rides between Battlefields enjoyable with his knowledge of history.

Athens to Marathon - The driver knew his way around, and his history, the real history not Hollywood legend. I will deffinately use Olive Sea again!

Lovely trip to Marathon - We had a lovely tour to Marathon accompanied by our driver George. If you are interested in classical antiquity and particularely the greco-persian wars, I would highly recommend this.
The Marathon museum and monuments are not particularely spectacular compared to what you can see in Athens, but visiting the place of one of ancient history most important battles was a fulfilling experience for history enthusiasts. The view from the vantage point was terrific. You could get a great overview of the Marthon valley and imagine how it all played out 2500 years ago.
George had great knowledge and was eager to explain details of the battle. He was very accomodating and it was also lovely chatting with him about other topics.

Incredible tour, highly recommend - Alex was an amazing guide and incredibly Knowledgeable about so many topics. Our attraction to this tour was to see the birthplace of the first marathon run, and it was an unforgettable experience. But the history made it so much more than we could have dreamt of.
