Additional Information

Thai railway markets are a quintessential experience, and the country’s most popular one takes centre stage on this tour from Bangkok. Enjoy a unique shopping experience at Maeklong Railway Market and get a taste of local life at Baan Rim Klong community.

First up is Maeklong Market, a rather special shopping scene set along train tracks. Dating back to around 1905, this seafood market is one of the largest in Thailand. Feel the thrill as vendors whisk away their stock in a matter of minutes before a train approaches and passes through the middle of their stalls.

Slow things down a pace next at Baan Rim Klong community, where you’ll meet the locals and hear about their traditions. Watch how workers impressively clamber up coconut trees and then extract sugar from the fresh fruit. You’ll also learn how baskets are woven from palm leaves, before helping to prepare

Round things off at a local restaurant where you’ll tuck into a tasty lunch.

Learn the culture of Thailand by Bicycle. - Beautiful boat ride to the island from Phuket. Then a bike ride down a path (learned about rubber trees; didn't know that's where the rubber came from!), through the rice fields, to "Ma"s house where she cut open coconuts for us. Lunch seaside, learned to make coconut milk, popsicles, and a delicious Thai dessert. Bike to the small town for a bit of shopping. The best part was stopping at a fish farm on our way to a small island for a dip in the ocean. The director of the fish farm allowed us interact with the fish (even got to hold a Puffer Fish!!). Then on to the island to take a dip in the ocean. The tour guides were excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable. What a great day!

We loved this trip, the guides and... -
We loved this trip, the guides and Koh Yao Noi!!!

It's very well organized, really top notch.
We were each given a care package with a towel, sarong and raincoat that we could use for the day.
We were also loaned wet shoes which is just brilliant for this trip, you can hop on and off the boat, out of the water and on the deck, cycle and walk in complete comfort.

The boat was very comfortable and modern.
There was a constant supply of ice cold refreshments and cooling Wet Towels.
The staff were friendly and attentive.
Koh Yao Noi is beautiful and this tour gives you a very good idea of what it's like to live on the Island.

Our guide explained how the locals farm, garden and we got to try our hand at drawing water from a well and separating rice kernels from husks. A real treat for a city girl

The food was really good and making the Thai dessert was an AMAZING experience and it was DELICIOUS.
The fish farm was remote and an experience in itself. The highlight for me was getting to hold a puffer fish and a hermit crab.
Next we cycled through the neighbourhood and past rice fields where the locals where tending the fields. The views were amazing and the highlight of the tour.
In the afternoon we got on the boat and sailed to a beautiful remote beach where we were the only people on the ireland.
To all our tour guides, thank you for an amazing day!
