Highlights
  • St. George’s Church - Start your tour with a pickup from your centrally-located Amman hotel. Relax into your, air-conditioned vehicle with your knowledgeable driver, and travel south to Madaba, known for its exquisite Byzantine mosaics.

After roughly an hour, arrive in Madaba and head inside St George’s Church with a local guide ( Optional ). This 19th-century Greek Orthodox basilica is home to the famous Madaba Mosaic Map, a 6th-century AD floor mosaic that depicts the ancient Holy Land and Jordan. Gaze at this masterpiece and its richly detailed renderings of Jerusalem, Jericho, the Dead Sea and other biblical sites as your guide explains how it was unearthed in 1897.

  • Mount Nebo - Having admired the mosaic, drive to Mt Nebo, and the hill where, according to the bible, Moses was not only granted a view of the Promised Land but also died. Take in the stunning views from the summit that extend over the Jordan Valley, and on a clear day, can stretch as far as Jericho and Jerusalem.

Meet up with a local guide ( Optional ) and go inside the excavated remains of the Byzantine church that once graced the hilltop. Here, archaeologists have uncovered a series of floor mosaics dating from between the 4th and 6th centuries AD. Marvel at these intricate artworks with their still-vivid illustrations of peacocks, soldiers, horses, and hunters, as your guide, shares facts about their creation and discovery.

After your visit, return to your vehicle and make the drive back to Amman. Your tour ends with a drop-off at your Amman hotel.

Super interesting tour - It was my first time in Jordan and the tour was incredibly exciting. The views and insights into the country were wonderful. I have many more impressions and photos. I recommend taking a camera with you and not just your cell phone. The driver was super friendly and was able to answer many of my questions.

Would recommend! - Our driver Bardaghawi picked us up a bit earlier which we liked. He told us a lot of information about the sights and the history of Madaba and Mount Nebo. The view on mount nebo was amazing! We then went to a small workshop for mosaic art and then headed St. Georg Church, where we also went around town to see the local shops. Those were very nice! Can only recommend! Bardaghawi was a great guide!

Amman’s best tour - We had an amazing day today, with our tour guide Bardaghawi. Our driver was very informative and flexible! We got to try some great falafel wraps! We started with visiting Madaba and then Mount Nebo followed by the baptism site. We also had great stops at the Dead Sea products store and Mosiac museum. This tour is a must when visiting Amman! The drive our driver took us through had amazing views and he was great at pointing out at what points we were above and below sea levels. Looking forward to our second tour tomorrow with Bardaghawi :)

Absolutely heart filling - This was an incredible, once in a lifetime experience. It was a pilgrimage tour where many important places were travelled to in an adequate amount of time. Our driver Mohammed Alomari was the sweetest and most accommodating person ever. We travelled to Jordan for only one day for the baptismal and he made sure it was done upon request. He was very knowledgeable and just A very personable and warm human being. We enjoyed his company very much and look forward to traveling with him again.

Lovely tour of Mt Nebo and Madaba - Despite pick up point and collection time changing the evening before all went smoothly on this tour. My guide was pleasant and informative. I especially loved the visit to Mount Nebo, such an historical place to spend some time reflecting on the past. Thanks for taking me on this special tour.
