great tour with a knowledgeable guide - We had a great time visiting the many temples in Luxor. Our guide Saber was top notch, providing educated information, well informed advice on which exhibits to pay to see, and giving plenty of time to explore on our own. He even taught us since nifty camera tricks on our smart phone that we'll be using on future tours. I would advise all tourists to be aware that it's still very hot even in late September (44C!)

Beyond amazinf=g - My tour with Saber was amazing he was so knowledgeable and comes from a family of artisans and that history was incredible to hear firsthand. He also knew the best times to visit the sites and I was fortunate to have some of the spaces to myself! He took picture taking just as seriously as I did and went above and beyond to capture some great images of me. He was very passionate about the subject matter and patient and I felt I could ask any question! I had several tours with him my entire stay in Luxor so my reviews stand with each tour. The history that he knew, the pacing that we were able to have, and his attention to detail and just overall providing a great unique experience for me was so appreciated. Infact I attended this tour in Early May and I am circling back just to make sure this tour receives the credit it deserves.

Transport frrom Luxor to Hurghada - My itinerary included for me to travel to Hurghada from Luxor. The flight would have taken me to Cairo then over to Hurghada (which had a couple of hours of a layover). I looked into taking the public bus instead because of the direct route with a two hour arrival time. Once I shared my plans with the team they mentioned that they could provide transportation. Since I was already with Mamound (driver) for the past 5 days I felt comfortable with the option. We arrived in perfect timing because I needed to take a PCR. After the test I was dropped off at my hotel. Grateful for the service & safe journey!

An experience to repeat - Hamdi it's an excellent guide. It knows all about the temples and his history, it explain every detail of all, even if you don't saw it in the first look, the symbolism and belief of the ancient inhabitants, you can feel the travel trhoug time while you hear the things it was happened in each place because you understand why and how they did the things. Definitely it's the best way to enjoy the sites because isn't about only see old buildings that you asume was and are important, it's almost like you keep for yourselve a little part of all you can see.

Great and memorable experience - We (2 adults and 2 teenagers) intended to spend our entire Egyptian trip in Hurghada, but later decided it was foolish to be in Egypt and not learn about its amazing history. We chose Luxor because its only a drive from Hurghada and chose Far & Beyond Travel because of a recommendation. We knew we would be picked up at 5:00am at our hotel so arranged to bring breakfast with us to eat on 4 hour drive to Luxor. We were picked up at our hotel by Mohamed in his clean and air-conditioned van. He speaks pretty good English. It was an easy through both desert, cities and villages. We arrived on the East bank of Luxor just after 9:00am, and were driven to the Karnak Temple. There we met our Egyptologist Guide, Hamdi. Hamdi is very knowledge and friendly, and spoke perfect English. He guided us through the main Karnak Temple and surrounding area with a huge ancient pool and obelisks. He explained the meaning of many carvings and told us how these enormous buildings were constructed by bringing sand into the complex so to raise heavy stones and decorate them. It was very interesting. Mohamed waited in the van and then drove our family and Amr to the Malkata House on the West Bank of the Nile which has phenomenal views of the desert and the Valley of Queens (where royal queens were often buried). We had a delicious, traditional Egyptian lunch (both vegetarian and meat) prepared and hosted by Hasan, the private Chef. After lunch we were driven to the Valley of Kings and toured 4 ancient pharaoh tombs including King Tut's. It was amazing to enter these 3000 year old tombs, see the carvings and paintings and King Tut's mummy. We then were driven to Hatshepsut's temple which is so enormous and unique. Amr explained that Hatshepsut was a woman who ruled Egypt and that was very rare, and her temple is proof of her influence and success as Pharaoh. The last stop of our tour was the Colossi of Memnon built by Pharoah Amenhotep III. Hamdi told us that this site once was comparable to the Karnak Temple complex, but was damaged and pillaged for stones over the years. It was very interesting for us because it is an active excavation site and we were able to see people working on the site at the time. We left Luxor about 5pm, and were dropped off at our hotel in Hurghada around 9pm. It was a long, but great day! We plan to return to Luxor and have Hamdi take us to the Valley of the Queens, Tombs of Nobles and hopefully a ride on a traditional Egyptian boat, a felucca.

We booked through far and beyond with guide Hamdy - Hamdy went above and beyond to make sure we were able to see the things we wanted to see. He was funny and knowledgeable and became a friend by the end of the trip. If you are looking to have an enjoyable trip, I couldn’t imagine not using far and beyond with Hamdy as your guide !
