Highlights
- The Covered Bridge - The tour starts with pick up from your hotel/accommodation in Sofia. After approximately 2 hours’ drive, we will reach Lovech. There we will start exploring the old quarter of the city. We will walk through the cobbled small streets and travel back in time, admiring the typical XIX century houses. We will pay attention to the famous Covered Bridge – a masterpiece of Bulgarian architecture, built by Master Kolio Ficheto.
- Hisarya Fortress - We will pay attention to Vassil Levski Museum and continue our walk to The Hisarya Fortress, built during the First Bulgarian Empire (681-1018 CE). The fortress is one of the most visited landmarks in Lovech.
- Varosha - We will have a walk in the Varosha Quarter- reserve located in the old part of the town and includes more than 160 restored houses that help create an authentic atmosphere carrying visitors back to those 19th century days. There we will have lunch in a typical Bulgarian restaurant with traditional food.
- Devetashka Cave - We will continue our trip to our next stop- Devetashka Cave. The drive will take approx. 20 min. There we will have some time to walk around the stunning cave. Devetashka Cave is a picturesque karst cave. According to archeological research, it sheltered people since the late Paleolithic era. The cave is a protected landmark of national and international significance and has been declared a monument of culture.
- Krushunskiye Waterfalls - Our next stop is Krushuna Waterfalls (20 min drive from Devetashka cave). This is a unique natural wonder where we can make an amazing walk through the beautiful forest and along the stream that has formed a beautiful cascade of blue waterfalls.

Great Day Trip! - I had so much fun on this day trip - it was a great opportunity to see cool sights that I would have not seen otherwise. Our tour guide, Mihail, was fantastic - knowledgable, kind, and catered to whatever the group wanted. I definitely recommend this trip!

Beautiful Bulgarian countryside - We had a wonderful guide Michael who took us to the caves, waterfalls and the town of Lovech. Our guide was superb and. So was the tour, highly recommended it!

Must do - The guide was passionate and informative. I learned so much! The waterfall was peaceful and beautiful and the town showed me the different layers of the history of the area. Devetaki cave was amazing!

Great Views, the caves and history lesson was a great day out! - Great tour and history lesson from our guide Georgi, the caves and waterfalls as well as the village of Lovech was nice, with a lovely lunch in the sun.

See scenic forests, explore caves - Good to be picked up from hotel. Comfortable minibus, group size 5 adults. Circular walk to waterfall. Scenic, but could get very crowded. Quite a lot of walking and many slippery steps throughout the whole trip. We visited several caves all with different features. Zero accessibility if you have a mobility impairment. A full day trip. Bring plenty of water. On our trip being driven at 150km/hr on several occasions was interesting, as was the driver not using windscreen wipers for a while.
