About your host Mateus: “My name is Mateus and my heart belongs to Lisboa, despite I was born in Brasil. I arrived in Portugal in 2015 and here I discovered my passion - the kitchen. I have been in the business for more than 6 years, formed Kitchen Management and Production in one of the most prestigious and famous Touristic and Gastronomic schools in Portugal - Escola de Hotelaria.
My passion is to bring a smile through the kitchen, family and traditional or more modern and a little bit sophisticated, but always with a warm and special touch - mine.”

  • Tofu with cream (bacalhau com natas) - The famous Portuguese dish made with Bacalhau (dehydrated codfish), with fried potato cube and juicy béchamel sauce. (Cod is replaced by smoked tofu)
  • Alheira Vegan com grelos e ovos - Alheira with turnip greens is a typical dish, with sautéed turnip greens and poached eggs.
  • Drunk Pears - Pears from the west region of Portugal, cooked at low temperature with red and port wine, muscatel and spices.

Foodie Heaven - Chef Mateus was welcoming, charming, and the food beyond exceptional. He went to great lengths to explain how he reinvented the food for vegetarians. This is a great talent in the food industry that should not be overlooked. The food is vegetarian. However, tell him beforehand if you're vegan specifically and he will ensure your evening is just as special...
