- 150 Goat Island Road - Imagine what it is like to breathe underwater, to hover in a weightless world with marine life of all colours, shapes and sizes surrounding you. Goat Island Dive & Snorkel’s 1/2 day Try Dive experience at Goat Island Marine Reserve is safe, fun and will leave you buzzed and keen for more!\n\nWe spend time in a classroom before going over the equipment. once we are all confident then we make our way to the reserve. Once we are in the water, we will do some dive skills to get used to the gear. After this, we will explore the reserve.\n\nDiving with New Zealand’s friendliest fish is an experience every marine enthusiast must do.\n\nJust a few questions…\n- To take part in this experience you MUST be able to swim to a medium level and feel confident in the sea. You need to have experience snorkeling. If you have no previous experience with snorkeling, join our Guided Snorkel Experience first, this will give you the added confidence to participate in Step 2 - the Try Dive Experience!\n- Minimum age of 10 years

Exceptional! Sara is the best! - Tried scuba for the first time today and it was fantastic! All thanks to our guide, Sara. She was exceptional. Her personality was just as vibrant as our experience! Highly recommend. She made us feel so comfortable being novice divers, I would highly consider getting certified now! Everything ran so smoothly. We also saw amazing sea life! A truly memorable day!

Excellent! - We did a try dive with Sara and couldn’t be happier with our experience. She is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable for first time divers. In the water throughout the dive she was calm and reassuring. We saw plenty of snapper and goat fish, a couple eagle rays, and even a puffer fish! Would absolutely book again, we had an incredible time!

Amazing place and amazing company! - I did the advanced snorkelling at the start of my trip (17/12/23) with Adi, the try scuba dive at the end (10/1/24) with Sara. Both were amazing and we saw so many Sapper, Red Moki, Kelpfish, Drummmer, Urchins, Spotties, an Eagle Ray, Sponges and lots of other cool things! Both instructors were absolutely brilliant, making sure you were okay all the time and making sure you dived in a relaxed environment. With the Try Dive you spend about 1 hour in the water, with the rest of the time spent going through all the paperwork, equipment and safety procedures. I wish it had gone on longer, however, it was still a magical experience and one of the highlights of my trip! Thank you to Adi and Sara for all your help and encouragement… and I hope to return one day with my open water :)

Great experience ! - This was our second visit to Goat Island Dive & snorkel and we've loved both times, Friendly knowledgeable staff who make it all fun and safe. Sara lead our group this time and catered to our different levels & took us on a great tour - Lots of fun with cheeky snapper and lots of fish. Thank you!!

Try Diving Here - It's THE BEST! - If you want to try diving then Goat Island Dive & Snorkel is the place to give it a go! My partner and I did the Try Dive and it was AWESOME!!! We loved it! Kaiya, our instructor, was super cool and very calm which helped me to feel calm and relaxed. We saw so many fish and an eagle ray and even found a crayfish hiding out under the rocks. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone. It was professional, safe and enjoyable.

Scuba Diving with mates for the first time. - My friends and I decided to give scuba diving a go for the first time. We had Kaiya as our instructor. Kaiya was super cool and kept us calm and relaxed because we were all really nervous. She explained everything so well and she was really funny. We saw a lots of sea creatures and learnt about the importance of protected marine reserves. We had such a good time and will definitely come back again.
