A good discovery of Launceston from the Tamar River - Our captain was a good storyteller and a passionate of Launceston history. Although we could not have a very close view of the cataract because of recent floods, The approach to the George gorge was spectacular, navigating under old bridges and between carved rocks. We had a pleasant 50-minute journey and learnt about those who made Launceston and the importance of the Tamar River to the history of the settlement. Ther many children on board enjoyed the trip, trying to see water birds and baby black swans.

Cruising Cataract Gorge Currents - The river cruise offered an overall average experience. I opted for this trip to give my partner a break from driving, and while the river cruise wasn't exceptional, it was decent. However, the true standout moments were found at the remarkable Cataract Gorge and the historic old bridge. They were the clear highlights of our trip.

Ok. Interesting. - It was ok. Certainly the Captain told us lots of facts. It could be improved by the Captain explaining the Aboriginal influence and presence and about any rare species living in the Gorge. And the check on staff could smile more.

Disappointing - Walked it and saw more than on the boat trip, guides were good. If you walk it you get further up the gorge and see the basin which is the most dramatic part of the gorge.

Tick - Able to go on the upper deck for a better view, it was a bit deceiving as the tea they offer is just muffins & cookies.
