Lake Hawea to Wanaka - Very personalized trip arranged by Mark who offered a wealth of local knowledge including cafes along the route and Wanaka restaurants. Powerful bikes, local laminated map/instructions together with electronic position tracking on google map link all provided at departure point beside Lake Hawea. Spectacular scenery along the two rivers and very lucky with the weather after rain washed out our original day.

Go with the local guy! - Highly recommended. We did the Lake Hawea to Wanaka ride and had a great day with Mark's ebikes. We found Mark to be very friendly and informative, and genuinely interested in doing everything he could to make sure we had a fantastic experience. 6 out of 5 stars!

A wonderful day we shall remember for a long time to come! - 1. Mark is a wonderful host and picked us up to take us to the starting point of the ride 2. The bikes (Florence and Fabio in our case) were excellent- really easy to ride and help us along the way 3. The scenery from the lake hugging trail, to Cromwell old town and of course, to the winery location was spectacular 4. The wines astounded both me and my wife- they were delicious! (we visited Carrick, Mount Difficulty, Te Kanu and Desery Heart) 5. Mark kindly picked us up as we weren't too much up to the biking by the end of the day (!) and delivered us back to our residence in Wanaka, with plenty of laughs on the way home. In summary, although we came home enjoying more tastings than we expected and definitely with a few more bottles (investments they call it) than we thought we could load up onto our bikes , Mark was a brilliant host and we cannot rate this experience any higher alongside all the others exciting and fun things we're done over the 3 weeks of our fabulous NZ trip. Incredible day of biking in Wanaka - My wife and I, early '60s, enjoyed one of the most amazing days of biking that we have ever experienced in our lives. After reading lots of reviews, we scheduled Ebike rentals through Mark and his company, General Adventure. Online booking was easy and Mark began proactively communicating with me a couple of days prior to our arrival in Wanaka. He kept an eye on the weather and was extremely flexible regarding our riding time. As it turned out, the weather was spectacular. Mark is an amazing guy. He picked us up at our hotel with bikes already loaded on his truck. He then drove us out to the start point where he provided us with a physical map of the route, a Google real-time E-map of our route and some basic safety and bike operation instruction. On the way to the start point, he made a point of pulling over and showing us a few different landmarks that would be helpful on our journey. He was totally committed to making sure that we were comfortable with the bikes and with the trail. The ride was about 30 km and was absolutely jaw-dropping. The entire route was on bike paths. We started at Lake Hawea and ended up back in the downtown area of Wanaka. The diverse ecosystems that we rode through were astounding... From gorgeous lakeview vistas, through pastures, through forests, and along rivers. We took our time on the ride, as it was self-paced and the bikes were ours to use for as long as we wanted. Mark checked in with us during our trip to make sure that everything was okay. When we returned to Wanaka I texted him and within 10 minutes he was at our hotel picking the bikes up. I can't say enough about Mark. What a great guy! This is a labor of love for him and he genuinely enjoys sharing his beautiful location with others. He is personable, humorous, and sincere. I can't recommend this experience enough if you are interested in getting out and seeing the beauty in the Wanaka area by bike. A 10+ experience in every sense of the word. Mark, thank you for making this one of the most amazing and memorable experiences I've ever had on a vacation.

No regrets. - This bike ride is called unguided. But the reality is that you are looked after so well that it is like having someone by your side. The ride takes you from one beautiful lake with no people along two stunning rivers, with water so clear it hurts your eyes, to another lakefront with people living in elegant houses. Mark, the Owner of the bike company, is a Wanaka treasure. You will not regret choosing this company to spend a day biking around paradise.

Lake Hāwea to Lake Wanaka E-Bike trip - We had a fabulous e-bike trip from Lake Hawea to Lake Wānaka. It was truly beautiful with three distinct trails all offering different yet amazing views. Mark was a great guide, really friendly, attentive and knowledgeable and super keen to ensure we had the best experience and were safe and comfortable at all times. The service was so personal and flexible picking and Mark picked us up at Lake Wanaka and took us to the start of the trail at Lake Hawea and then met us at a place and time of our choosing. Mark also gave us some great tips for our ongoing trip ! A first class bike ride and a first class service !

GREAT RIDE! - This was a GREAT ride- maybe my favorite ever! Nice variety in the 3 sections Mark has put together. The E-bikes were great. And Mark was a perfect mix of fun and friendly on the one hand and organized, safety-oriented and professional on the other. Definitely a fun day!

Amazing excursion! - We had an incredible time on this excursion and can’t thank Mark enough for his flexibility, knowledge, kindness and humour! He picked us up from our AirBnB, gave us detailed instructions as well as a physical and digital map. He gave us total flexibility to pick us up wherever and whenever and tracked our progress to ensure we were safe and enjoying ourselves. On top of all this, the route he chose provided for some of the best scenery we have seen in this beautiful country and the e-bikes were comfortable and a perfect mode of transportation to get around. Highly recommend a stop to the Pembroke Patisserie on the way. Thanks again Mark for making our trip unforgettable!
