Great experience! - The trip was great! Tour was very informative, had everything advertised here and they picked us up at our hotel. My only recommendation here is to those who are not into shopping stops or waiting for them to pick up/drop off large groups - and It seems that most tour operators do things the same way: try a private tour instead, if one is available and you can afford it. If you are into shopping, do recommend you buy something in the island or during the tour stops, as it helps local economy :)

Must do tour! Most beautiful beach in the DR. - This trip is a must do while in the Dominican Republic! The water is amazing. Its a beautiful light blue color and has the most perfect temperature. Our tour guide was great, kept us entertained and cracked some jokes. The first stop was at the natural pool, this is actually a long strip of shallow water in the ocean at which you enjoy your first drinks (Rum & Coke or Sprite) and a warm dip. Then you make your way to Saona Island at which the tour guide shows you where to meet for lunch and at what time. Make sure you show up on time for food as everyone else on the island is doing the same thing. After lunch, we had about 1.5 hrs to just soak up the sun and enjoy the magical waters and beach. Then a boat ride back to the dock. Throughout the tour, we had a photographer taking pictures which where available for purchase after the tour. Overall this was one of the most beautiful tours we did in the DR! Pros:- Most gorgeous water you'll find in the DR. -Tour guide was entertaining and funny. - The ONLY tour guide that did not continuously push you to tip. He mentioned 1 time that tips were appreciated but not required and that was the end of that.- Bottomless rum & Coke/Sprite. - Lunch is provided (chicken, pork, potato salad, fruit, bread).- Pick-Up & Drop-Off from your hotel. - Party and dancing on the catamaran. Cons: - Chaos at the dock to board on your boat. - Wish we could have spent more time on Saona island, 2hrs was not long enough. Recommendation: If you want a more party vibe definitely do this on the weekend, but expect lots of chaos at the boarding dock. The tour guide does not choose what boat to dock. The people that work at the dock assign a boat to each group, plus other to fill up each boat. You'll ride a speed boat one way and a catamaran the other way. The catamaran has music, drinks, and dancing. The speed boat is exactly what it sounds like, a fast boat to get you to your destination... If you are looking for a more relaxed and chill vibe while still enjoying the beauty of this island, I would definitely book this one during a week day.

Good - Trip was worth it even if it feels very industrial. However no french speaking guide (requested), we were around 150 people on the cata on the way back (vs max 50 people in the trip description). My advice is thus to book with the cheapest provider with a good rating.

Complicated and disappointing organization but exceptional location - Big delay on arrival on the island. We were put on two boats that were the wrong ones. They had miscalculated the number of people, some were left at the port. Port where you pile up with hundreds of tourists and where sellers jump on you. We see men selling photos with monkeys that are fed soda. Ashamed. We boarded a third boat which had no fuel. No explanation from the guide for this disorganization. In total we left the hotel at 7:40 a.m. and arrived on the island at noon. FINALLY arrived at the natural swimming pool and on the island: it was great. The water is splendid. Don't miss it! Even if you book with another excursion, take the time to go to Saona. The time on the island itself was short with this excursion (2 hours). Lots of tourist salespeople who won't let you down. I recommend buying the piña coladas fresh straight from the pineapple. It was great. The part on the catamaran was great, unlimited rum, music, good atmosphere. The view quickly makes you forget the non-existent organization of the morning and fortunately! For professional photos it is 10 dollars per photo. I recommend Emmanuel, he took the most beautiful photos! He was very kind and very knowledgeable. We laughed a lot

Trip to Saona Island - The transportation was very confusing. Your company does not pick up at our hotel and we had to go to the gate to be picked up. The transportation was late and the driver Victor was rude and unfriendly. Danny Boy was very accommodating, we were the only English-speaking people on the trip. We read a previous review and knew to take snacks because our day started at 0700 and we didn't eat until approximately noon or after. The natural pool was warm, inviting, and the perfect depth. The beach at Saona Island was beautiful. Lunch was very tasty and the unlimited drinks were good. Unfortunately, the bathrooms were horrible, having to dump water into the toilet after every use was annoying. I find the van always cramped and filled to capacity. The driver did not narrate any parts of the excursion. The crew on the two watercrafts was very entertaining.

A long trip, the island is good! - Read the entire review carefully because overall I rated it 3 stars. We traveled from Ocean to the lighthouse, a hotel a little far from the airport, this added another 40 minutes to the trip. The truth is that it is a long trip and although the beach is very beautiful, it takes almost 3:30 one way to spend 30 minutes at the pool and 1:20 at Saona beach. It is very rushed and the truth is we spent very little time enjoying it, we understand perfectly that it was not a private tour that is why I say it if you want to stay because it is worth going, Rent a private tour. The company is very good, Carlos is a very good guy. We had some Colombian friends who felt like the soul of the party and there was a lot of noise and the truth was that it was already exasperating when one of them returned. Another important point if you are going with water children!!! The atmosphere on the catamaran is not for children, alcohol and girls dancing, I say it doesn't scare me but it is not a family atmosphere. The food in the place is bad, it is understandable but you are among a lot of people and they give you Styrofoam plates and food as much as possible. Bring snacks and water.

Disorganized and doesn't deliver what it promises - The island itself is beautiful, but nothing worth spending the whole day on this “tour to look at Saona”. In addition to the bus journey, there is another 90 boat ride to go and another 90 ride to return from the island. In theory there would be a stop at a natural pool which is not actually a pool but just a shallow part of the beach. When we purchased, they informed us that there would be an open bar on the boats and not on the island, but the only thing available was rum and cocacola and no ice. The food on the island is very poor, there were 4 of us and none of us had the courage to eat. Everyone involved, guides, boat etc very confused. We waited more than 2 hours to board. Summary, We lost a day of vacation.
