Great photos of snakes and frogs - We embarked on the 3-hour photographer's tour at Eco Natura Park in La Fortuna, and it was nothing short of spectacular! Our goal was to photograph frogs and snakes in their natural settings, and the park did not disappoint. We managed to capture around 15 different frogs and 8 snakes, each in unique natural surroundings, which made for some phenomenal photography. Our guide, Leonela, was incredibly knowledgeable, providing detailed insights into each creature we encountered. Isaias was a great help too, ensuring we had everything we needed for a successful shoot. The diversity of wildlife and the sheer beauty of their habitats filled us with awe. We are immensely grateful for such an enriching experience. Thank you for making this possible! Rene, Agnes and Rene from Switzerland

A lovely animal sanctuary - Lovely animal sanctuary, with a wide array of different butterflies, reptiles and amphibians. Our tour guide Ashly was very helpful and informative, opening some of the enclosures for a clearer view of the frogs! We even saw a young sloth and some sleeping bats, whilst walking one of their trails! Highly recommend!

Great Tour - What a great place and made even more so by Ashley who led us around the park. She made sure our whole group got great pictures of all the wildlife there. She would even get in the habitats of the frogs and make sure she got great photos of all of them for everyone in our group. Can't recommend her enough.

Mixed Experience with the Photography Tour at Natura Eco Park - Our recent Photography Tour at Natura Eco Park left us with mixed feelings. While we encountered knowledgeable and motivated staff who were great to talk to, there were also aspects of the experience that left us disappointed. On the positive side, the staff at Natura Eco Park demonstrated a genuine passion for wildlife and were eager to share their knowledge with us. We enjoyed engaging in conversations with them and appreciated their enthusiasm for the animals in their care. Additionally, there were plenty of animals to photograph, providing ample opportunities for us to capture captivating images. However, we were disappointed to learn that the animals we encountered during the tour were held in captivity rather than being wild. This revelation diminished our excitement, as it was not clearly stated when booking the tour. While we understand the challenges of providing a controlled environment for photography, we believe it's essential to prioritize the welfare and freedom of the animals. Furthermore, we found the photographic setup at Natura Eco Park to be lacking. Despite the staff's best efforts, there seemed to be a lack of photographic knowledge. While it was appreciated that the setup was sheltered from the rain, this sometimes affected the quality of the photographs due to suboptimal lighting and backgrounds. The setup was also made too busy making it hard to find a good composition on the images. In conclusion, while we acknowledge the dedication and motivation of the staff at Natura Eco Park, we believe there is room for improvement in the Photography Tour experience. Consulting with a photographer to enhance the overall setup and ensuring that the welfare of the animals is prioritized are areas where improvements could be made. Additionally, implementing a rotational schedule for selecting animals to photograph (and not letting people decide which animal they want to see) could help minimize disturbance and provide a more ethical approach to animal care. We hope that Natura Eco Park will take the initiative to address these concerns and create a more fulfilling and ethical experience for visitors in the future.

Maybe not a great idea if you love animals.. - I think we had the wrong expactations... We thought we would be in some National Park where you would walk with a photographer for searching animals in their own habitat. Maybe with some tips and tricks from the pro. What we got was a tour in a park where they had animals in cages. More like a zoo. The thing that surprised us badly was the way they manipulate the animals to get a good picture. They have a table with plants, you can say of what frogs or snakes you want a photo of and they put them in the plants for you... Yes, you can make a nice picture but no, we don't think it works this way...
