This excursion is tailored for enthusiasts of medieval history.

Our route from Nicosia to Kerynia takes us by the Pentadaktylos mountain, known as ‘Five fingers’ in Greek. Here, we will relish in the majesty of the St. Hilarion Castle, a crucial fortress for the Templar knights in Cyprus.

Next, we reach the erstwhile summer abode of the French royalty, the Lusignans - the city of Kyrenia, the largest in Northern Cyprus. Meander through the charming bylanes of the Old Town and take a leisurely walk down to the stunning promenade during your free time.

Inside the fortress walls of the Venetian Castle, examine the Shipwreck Museum where you can see remnants of a 4th century B.C. freight ship from Alexander III of Macedon’s era, along with the scattered cargo it transported.

We proceed to Bellapais Abbey, one of the most captivating Gothic structures in Cyprus built by the Crusaders.

Beautiful, historical Kyrenia! - So much history all together! Each part had its own fascinating stories, we could have spent all day at each. Particularly the Bellapais Abbey was beautiful. Our guide was so knowledgeable and really made the day.

Border Crossing, Castles & lunch - Interesting experience crossing the border into no-man’s land and then into Turkish Cyprus. Fabulous views of the castle and wonderful lunch in Kyrenia. Long day with lots of driving
