Mecha kirei! 🌸 - My family and I took a rickshaw ride in Arashiyama the other day. I rode with my sister, and our guide was Somei. The trip was smooth and fun. Somei’s English was so good, and he kept us engaged throughout the ride. He gave us insights about the area, was entertaining, and made the trip fun. He kept making sure that we were comfortable. The trip was so enjoyable it went by so fast. Arigatou gozaimasu, Somei-san!

Exceptional memories - I visited Ebisu-ya on our honeymoon in November 2023. The rickshaw driver, Iwakawa-san, who was in charge of us in Arashiyama, greeted us with a very refreshing attitude. It was the first time for either of us to ride a rickshaw, but the ride was better than we expected. It felt like we were riding in a car. The speed was just right, and even though it was November and the temperature was around 25 degrees around noon, it was still hot, but we were able to feel the breeze and it was comfortable. Also, when the rickshaw drivers pass each other, they greet each other in a friendly manner, and when they see a rickshaw driver who is not driving, they always greet the passengers. This conveys the good atmosphere of Ebisu-ya. The ride course is carefully selected, and the driver will create the best plan for your ride time. Depending on the course, you can go through a deserted bamboo forest that only Ebisu-ya can go through, and take photos there, and you can visit minor but impressive temples that are great for photos, so you can enjoy the Arashiyama area. Iwakawa-san was always considerate of us during the ride, and he made sure to take the hood in and out according to the sunlight and the surrounding scenery, and even checked to see if we were thirsty and if we needed to go to the bathroom. When we passed in front of temples or went inside them, he carefully and politely explained their history. He also had excellent photography and videography skills, and when we got off, our camera roll was overflowing with photos and videos. We were very satisfied. He also introduced us to restaurants around the facility where we were staying, so we were able to enjoy Kyoto even after we got off. He was very friendly, and we changed the original 130-minute course to the 180-minute Daimyo course, but the time still flew by in an instant. It was truly the best honeymoon ever. I'm sure the other rickshaw drivers were all very nice people, but if I come to Arashiyama again, I'll definitely ask Mr. Iwakawa to help me.

Rickshaws are recommended - Walking through a crowd can be tiring, but a rickshaw allows you to enjoy sightseeing at your leisure while listening to various explanations. If you make a request, you can receive individual attention. I took a rickshaw with my elderly mother, and we were able to spend our limited time meaningfully.

Amazing experience and lovely people - Nao was absolutely amazing, really friendly and welcoming. He was very knowledgeable and would answer all our questions and made the whole experience so personalised. It was a lovely rickshaw and he treated us with the upmost respect and took us all around the quiet back routes of the area, and you even have a private path in the bamboo forest!! It is worth it just for that. He takes magnificent photos of you and they are all trained in photography for this
