- Kuranda - After your bus transfer to Kuranda with commentary, you will have about 3 hours explore, shop and eat on your own. It’s a short walk to the train station, alternately use the free shuttle bus that leaves near the Butterfly sanctuary. On the way we may drop off some customers at the Skyrail.
- Kuranda Scenic Railway Freshwater Station - Board the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway for a narrated journey . Travel through World Heritage Listed rainforest through 15 tunnels and over 37 bridges as you make your way to Freshwater Station.

Additional Information
This affordable small group tour includes pick-up from your accommodation or harbor and takes you to Kuranda. You’ll pass by lush sugarcane fields and climb the splendid Macalister Range via the Kennedy Highway, renowned for its World Heritage-designated tropical rainforest. After a quick overview tour of the village, you’ll be given more than 3 hours to discover markets, art galleries, souvenir stores, and zoos (entrance fees not included). You can also choose from a wide array of dining venues.
Following your leisure time in Kuranda, head to the nearby Kuranda Railway Station to embark on the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway. This ride through the rainforest will take you across 37 bridges and through 15 tunnels. You’ll be picked up at Freshwater Station for the ride back to your accommodation or harbor, arriving around 4 pm. Alternatively, you can opt to continue to Cairns Station and walk to your city lodging.

Day trip to Kuranda - Enjoyable day trip to Kuranda village to check out the markets & wildlife. Scenic railway back down which was informative with wonderful views. Michael was great, very knowledgeable, down to earth & friendly. Highly recommended.

Amazing day - We had an amazing day our tour guide was amazing talked to us the hole time telling us about the things we seen along the way to our destination. When we pulled up he was there waiting on us it was a hassle free day pick up and dropped off at your door amazing highly recommend

Great trip in Kurranda form Michael - Our family just went yesterday, nice weather,not very warm,we enjoyed all day long trip, beautiful views and interesting activities, had tasty food there as well, Michael is very professional and knowledgeable trip organiser and guider. heaps thanks to Michael!

A day in the hills - A wonderful trip up into the mountains. It was like a step back in history. The views were fantastic and the train ride was very smooth. The markets up in the township were just so different. Lots of fun

Great views - Michael was fabulous, you can tell he really cares about all his guests. Communication was great, we never felt confused or lost. Love that he provides his transportation services no matter what excursion you are looking to do. We chose to ride up the mountain with Michael for his commentary, enjoyed a hike in the jungle, explored the markets and then took the train down where he met us at a stop and walked us back to the bus.

Scenic Rail Tour without Skyrail - The hundred year old train itself was an experience. Learning about its history was interesting. Seeing some waterfalls was lovely.
The only Disappointing thing was I hadn’t seen the tour online that included the skyrail,
Which we are so sorry we missed. I feel the tour operator could’ve contacted us to let us know about this addition or even when he dropped off the other passengers, he could’ve asked us if we wanted to get off and buy tickets there. We were thinking we would still have the option to go on that after the train.. not realising the train was at the end of the day and we would’ve had to get the sky rail up there and the train back.
