Additional Information

Slash visitor volumes by 50% (15 as opposed to 30) in comparison to a typical tour. Opt for tranquility without throngs of tourists in your group.

Embark on a journey to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, previously a Nazi detention camp - Auschwitz-Birkenau, which was the death ground for over a million Jews and other captives during the Second World War. The scenery is stooped in harrowing history - from the flower-bedded Death Wall, national monuments, homicidal gas chambers and crematoriums to the surviving ruins, remnants of numerous lodgings, watchtowers and the infamous railway line with its ramp - offering a poignant remembrance to those who perished.

  • DEPARTURE: The hours you book are tentative and may change due to schedule at the Auschwitz Museum and traffic conditions.
  • DOCUMENTS: You must provide full names of all participants when reserving and bring a passport or ID for entry to Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum. Without these, entry may be denied.
  • VISIT: At Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum, hundreds visit daily, making individual pacing difficult. Respectful behavior and smart casual dress are mandatory. Eating, smoking, and loud behavior are prohibited on-site.
  • PICKUP: Some Krakow hotels are in traffic-restricted zones. Pickup will be arranged from the nearest accessible point, with prior notification.
  • LUNCH: Lunch is not included. There’s no time for a regular meal between visits to Auschwitz and Birkenau, so bring a snack. A grocery shop, snack bar, and restaurant are NOT available on-site.
  • SECURITY: Be prepared to go through a security check (similar to the airport’s one) in order to enter Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.
  • WEATHER: We operate in all weather conditions. Up to 70% of the time you spend outdoors (especially at Auschwitz II Birkenau). Please bring weather appropriate clothing and water on sunny days.
  • CHILDREN: Children must be accompanied by an adult. Infant seats are available. A visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum can be traumatic, therefore we recommend that visitors should be at least 13 years old.
  • PICTURES: Visitors are generally allowed to take pictures with a few, clearly indicated exceptions. Taking photos in the buildings with the use of flash is forbidden.
  • RENOVATIONS: Due to extensive renovations in the western part of Krakow, we regret to inform you that we are currently unable to accommodate pickups from that area, because it causes traffic jams and delays. Also, the meeting point at Floriana Straszewskiego 19 (next to the Philharmonic) will be temporarily closed. For anyone who lives in the area, we can find a convenient and safe place for a pickup. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

Problem sorted - Communication was very good from the onset to confirm this trip months in advance. But I was then disappointed when a lack of tour staff ( due to Polish) bank holiday ) meant a very rushed, last minute rearranged date. Thankfully it all got sorted and I could not fault the trip. Victor our driver was friendly and on time and Katia our tour rep was brilliant. The additional lunch bag was also really nice. Im sure the tour operator would be doing as much as possible to prevent a reoccurrence of a last minute change. Paying extra for the small group tour is worth it too

Auschwitz-Birkenau - Excellent tour-very well organized and informative. Very thorough information about two very dark places in history. Our driver Wojciech was on time and informative on the drive over and back. He had a great sense of humor. Pick up and drop off at our hotel helped make the experience stress free.

Auschwitz small group visit - A very well organised and professional tour company. Communication was excellent from start to finish and they delivered exactly what they promised. Very friendly, punctual driver and nice comfortable travel to and from Auschwitz-Birkenau . Good handover to the on site tour guide and a well paced tour of both sites. The small tour group is a big benefit as the site is busy with lots of tour groups at anyone time, so being able to stay close to your guide is a must. Highly recommended.

Amazing Experience and Tour - Visited with my mother as part of her Mother's Day surprise. Seems wrong to say we enjoyed it but definatley an eye opening experience that I believe everyone should do at least once. We booked prior to travelling to Krakow but were kept informed with text and WhatsApp messages. Our driver 'Norbert' was excellent. His english was perfect and was great to chat with on the journey to and from the camp. He gave as a guided tour as we travelled through Krakow to pick up two other visiters and was very informative. I would personally request him to be my driver when I visit again. Once we arrived at Auschwitz, we were handed over to one of the licenced guides who was very informative. She also had excellent english and thanks to the headsets, we were able to hear her clearly. She showed us around the site and explained everything as we went. As others have said, it did sometimes appear quite rushed due to another group waiting to get into the area where we were. I would personally have liked to have been able to spend time at some of the locations to read the displays and take in the magnitude of what we were seeing but instead I took pictures to read them later. Following our tour, we had a quick break and something to eat. I'd highly recommend taking a packed lunch as there are very limited places to get food at the site and the places there are, were very busy with long queues. After our break, we moved over to Birkenau. This site is a lot more open and exposed so I would recommed taking warm clothing and suitable shoes as some areas were quite muddy and uneven. Unfortunatly, we didn't have the benefit of the headsets for this part of the visit so it was quite difficult to hear what the guide was saying but we luckily managed to stay near the front so we could hear most of it. Again, the guide was vey informative and patient with us. She did her best to ensure everyone could hear her and follow what she was saying. While we were there, they were completing some maintenance which meant a longer walk than usual but everything was well organised and easy to follow. Once we left the site there was time to visit the gift shop and facilities. My only personal disapointment was that all three gift shops were sold out of the guide books in English. There were also other members of our group who complained. Considering that a large majority of the visitors to the site are most likely English speaking, this seems a pretty poor oversight. After leaving the site and starting the long journey home, again our driver gave us lots of information about the areas we passed through and made the journey very enjoyable. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this tour with 'Hello Krakow' if you are visiting Krakow, and request 'Norbert' as your driver. I would suggest paying the little bit extra to go on the tour with smaller groups as from what I saw of the other groups, they appeared quite large and it would probably be difficult to follow. Always check the weather before you visit as large areas are outside. Ensure you have a warm jacket and comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking involved. We personally covered 27,000 steps. Thank you very much to everyone at 'Hello Krakow'. We will 100% be booking with you again when we return.

Excellent service - The whole experience from start to finish was excellent. Our driver Patrick was friendly, polite and professional. We were informed the day before about times and the transport arrived on time to pick us up. The camp tour itself was interesting and the guide was good but I did feel it was a little rushed at times but then with the amount of people there it needs to be organised. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour interesting. I would highly recommend the limited passengers tour as we only had 15 people in our tour group which was better to be able to see everything and take a little more time to take in the different areas. Hello cracow were very good value for money. We ordered a packed lunch and there was more than enough food in the bag to feed 2 of us.
