Highlights
  • Memorial and Museum Auschwitz II-Birkenau - Setting off from Krakow in the middle of the day to avoid large groups of tourists at the museum our trip will first go to the “Auschwitz II Birkenau” camp, which was the main extermination camp during the Holocaust.
Before entering the camp, I will explain to you exactly what to pay attention to during the 1,5-hour self walk and lend you a book with a description and map of the camp. Then there will be a short break for lunch or coffee (the prices in the restaurant near the museum are quite high so it is best to bring your own snacks with you).
  • Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau - After the break we will drive to the “Auschwitz I” camp. This is now the main museum, where you will find a gate with the inscription “Arbeit Macht Frei”, an exhibition that is housed in former prisoner blocks, reconstructed first gas chamber with ovens and chimney, personal artifacts belonging to prisoners and much more.

Long but informative day - We were expecting a large coach full of people but when Michel turned up, we found out it was a small minivan which allowed us to chat with one of the other couples with us. It was a comfortable drive to the site, stopping on the way at Judenrampen which I feel we otherwise wouldn't have seen if it weren't for Michel. Michel was very informative and told us what to expect in each of the camps you visit, he briefly showed us into some of the wooden blocks within Birkenau and gave information about them, then left us with a meeting time and point and we explored on our own. We were then transported 3km to the other cap, where we were told the best blocks to visit as we self-toured Auschwitz I. We were transported back to Krakow, it was a long tiring day. We were both glad to have had the convenience of Michel's safe driving and knowledge.

Excellent trip which was very well organised! - Really interesting trip. Michael shared his knowledge about the different areas. He arrived at meeting on time. Vechicle was very comfortable. I didn't realise that you need photographic ID to enter camp, but thought luckily we had ours.on us. The only thing I would say that the meeting point was infront of the blue and white parcel boxes and the description just said white parcel boxes. Apparently they had recently changed colour. This was really good value for money and cheaper than other operators so I would definitely recommend. He even messaged us the date before to confirm the details were the same.

Very good affordable trip - This trip was one of the best guided tours I have been on. We were picked up around 9am and taken to Aushwitz for the tour of the Birkeneau camp. Michal was very knowledgable on the topic and answered any questions. I was expecting a large tour group where you would be on a coach however was pleasantly surprised to see that it was a 8 seater minibus with only a small tour group of 6. It felt a lot more educational as Michal was happy to answer any questions and we got to know the group better. It was also affordable at £20pp, which is on the cheaper side for the guided tours. I also think Michal gave you enough time to visit the museum on your own where you could reflect personally if needed. We got back to Krakow at around 1730hrs and were happy with the price for a whole day trip. Thankyou to Michal, From Bessie and Emily. We reccomend this trip to anyone looking for a day trip to learn more about auschwitz.
