It starts with a discussion about the principles of photography (overview of the basic aesthetics in photography) and defining your photographic identity. Then together we will go on a Photowalk, where we put everything into practice.

((About the Instructor)) Based in Hong Kong, Thomas Bertson is a distinguished photographer and teacher. His photography is often credited for bringing attention to social-ethical issues. His journey in photography started in 2008 with a wide range of subjects from still life to portraits. Later, his focus shifted to documentary photography when he covered the Arab Spring (2011) and Prison Escape (2012). Hundreds of his photographs were published during this time. Since 2013, he has been a regular contributor to VOGUE, where some of his works are featured. In December 2020, he published his debut book “Hong Kong: Photographic Journey in Search of Peace.”
