Additional Information

Vrmac is a significant mountain and peninsula in the nation of Montenegro. The tallest point of this range is known as St. Ilija, standing at a height of 785 m from sea level. Vrmac is an extension of the Lovćen mountain range and on the western side concludes at the Verige strait. Positioned between the bays of Kotor and Tivat, it provides majestic vistas over the expansive Boka Bay throughout this journey. In historical times, Vrmac held substantial strategic importance as it demarcated the border via the Verige, between the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Venice. Today, relics of defensive fortification structures still exist. An excavated tunnel extending 1,637 meters through Vrmac links Kotor to the Adriatic Highway and the larger Montenegro region.
