The entire establishment was designed in the shape of a horseshoe, similar to a labyrinth, containing offices, meeting rooms, sleeping quarters, and notably, Tito’s personal chambers. Two kitchens and reservoirs of oil, food, and water that could maintain the bunker for a half-year were instrumental in its operation. The bunker could house Tito (the Yugoslav revolutionary and ‘kind-hearted dictator’, Josip Tito), along with 350 nationally significant political and military figures, in case of a nuclear attack.
