Tour to Aswan from Luxor - We had a fantastic experience with Flyby Egypt and our genuine Egyptologist guide Mr. Ahmed Osman who holds several degrees in Anthropology and Egyptian History. He and his driver Mr. Ahmed Fatah (a soft-spoken man and the best driver we had in Egypt) picked us up at our hotel in Luxor and drove all day to delivery us at our hotel in Aswan. We stopped as scheduled at Edfu temple where Mr. Osman guided us through explaining the history of the temple, its construction, events with the Romans, the history of the Egyptian people and their gods, everything! He is so deeply knowledgeable, and his presentation of that knowledge is quite engaging. We continued our journey following down the Nile to Kom Ombo temple where Mr. Osman explained its history as a temple and hospital, the region, and why it is one of his favorite temples exclaiming ‘oh my heart how beautiful’. His passion for the subject of his profession is truly awe-inspiring. He even talked to the guards and they let us view the Crocodile Mummy museum. We finished our journey in Aswan but before dropping us at our hotel (and after several calls by Mr. Osman to find something open for us daylight hours during Ramadan) they took us to lunch at Makani in Aswan where we got delicious Shawarma. We highly recommend this private tour and if possible, requesting Mr. Osman and Mr. Fatah as well. Your experience will be one for the history books for certain. 10 of 5 stars!
