The southern half of the temple was dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek the god of fertility and creator of the world with Hathor and Khonsu , The northern part of the temple was dedicated to the falcon god Horus . The Temple is atypical because every thing is perfectly symmetrical along the main axis .

Embark on a day trip to the incredibly magnificent temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo. Situated on the western shore of the Nile in Edfu, Edfu Temple is one of the uncommon religious temples found on the west side of the Nile River. This sacred site was devoted to the deity Horus. In contrast, Kom Ombo’s distinctive architectural design sets it apart. The temple was bifurcated into two sections, each honoring a different god - Horus and Sobek the crocodile.

Awesome day tour! - We are very happy that we chose this tour to the temples Kom Ombo and Edfu. Everything went smooth, starting from drive, driver, car.. our guide Islam Mourad was very polite and very knowledgeable. Everybody spoke very good English. We could communicate even regarding our gluten- intollerance (which is very uncommon in Egypt). Both temples are so beautuful and worth seing. We had plenty of time to explore and to take photos. We didnt feel rushed at all. Thank you!

Great tour of Kom Ombo and Edfu temples, not to be missed! - Fabulous day with Dr Mohamed Ali Abbasy, very knowledgeable and excellent explanation of Kom Ombo and Edfu temples, followed by a very nice dinner, visit to the splendid Aswan market and carriage ride, highly recommend
