The heritage city of Khajuraho is not only about its beauty but also hide such outskirt locations near to it. Kalinjar Fort, 130km from Khajuraho, is one such historical and architectural jewel. Situated in Banda district, this fortress was built by Chandela ruler on a holy hill in the 10th century.
Kalinjar means the destroyer of time. It is believed that Lord Shiva drank the poison during the churning of great ocean and came here to overcome the
